Used the PC today for the 1st time!

Still waiting for my big order from Serious Performance, and really wanted to use the PC (Porter Cable) for the 1st time. So I used it with a few things I had in the cupboard.

Washed with NXT, then Meguiars #83 cleaner/polish, Meguiars step 2 polish and topped it off with NXT tech wax.

Ended up polishing it in the garage :)

And the result is.................

:D Well Chuffed!

Looking great mate, though using #83 w/o #80 can create a matt finish, DC2 will impart a shine but only temporary as it doesnt cut.

I really notice a difference when I use #83 as it removes scartches but dulls the paintwork. However if you work it for long enough on say speed 6 the diminishing abrasives will break down and theres no need for #80:D

Cool cheers for the tip! Still waiting for the #80 to arrive along with everything else.... :(

Yes very! Couldnt live without it now!

Trouble is my mom has seen how mint it is and asked if Id do hers tomorrow? he he hope it doesnt rain.

lol, glad your happy, wait till you get the #80 on, looks like you may have the mintest racing blue on the forum now :)

 :D cheers Shaun!

Just a quick question what pads do you use for what?

I used Orange for the 83, Blue for step 2 polish and Green for Tech wax. Is that right?

jay, orange is a cutting pad for #83, green is next one down for #80 /polishes etc, and blue is for wax

cheers just to double check how about the smaller yellow, white and blue ones?

the 4" are

yellow = cutting pad (like 6" orange)

white = polish pad (like 6" green)

blue = wax pad (like 6" blue)

Yeah cool, thats what I used them for. Just double checking because it isnt very clear on the packs.

no, its confusing coz the smaller pads are different to the bigger ones, lol i got them wrong way round first time because unlike the das pads the 4" pads all seem as firm as each other

yeah lol, I just guessed in the end. Tempted to give it another coat of NXT wax this morning...... :D

cool, ordered some P21s, Collinite 476s and Poorboys EX sealant, plus other waxes. Ill put up a list when it comes!

Do you reckon I should put another layer of NXT wax on, this morning?
