Valver throttle/petrol guage question

  Nissan Jewk
When I boot my clio for a few seconds, foot to the floor job, the petrol gauge drops instantly, then comes back up a few seconds later, is this right?!?

Earlier, I had 1/4 of a tank, gave the throttle a blip, the petrol light came on! Light went off again, and 10-15 seconds later, the gauge was reading 1/4 of a tank again, wtf?!

*Edited 'cos I'm a r****d who can't spell 'gauge'

Hmm the it could just be the petrol 'swishing' around in the tank causing the sensor or whatever to move the needle? You know like when you park half on the road half on the kerb kind of thing maybe?

I can't say I've noticed my fuel guage move when booting it... heh.

1/4 of a tank movement is quite a bit.. mine definetly doesn't move that much - once the light is on, the guage is reading below the bottom line..
