Alright guys, I recieved some cf stuff from carbon modz so I decided to wrap my spoiler. I did It, but couldn't wrap it around the rear part so had to cut it short :dapprove: Looks really good though, im well pleased! :) Pics tomorrow!

Anyway, I need someone local to High Wycombe that can wrap! I want to do my wing mirrors & roof! Its just curves I can't do!

Any tips?

Cheers :approve:

If I was local, I'd have done it for you, used to do it for a living.

The vinyl has a memory and if it's not heated to the right temp after its fitted, it will just keep pulling back.

Is it the 3M stuff they sent you?

I want the roof doing at some point & would like the spoiler done properly! Ideally wrapped right round the edges!

Looks spot on!!

For a full wrap on the spoiler, the cheats way, wrap the side edge and trim the top with a scalpel. Then wrap the top like you have, with a small 1-2mm overlap, trimmed really neat, then really heat it and used your finger to massage the two layers. The join would still be there, but very hard to spot. Using the scalpel on the paint it the hardest part.

Wing mirrors are an easy one man job, good thing to practice on, start from the centre and work out is the trick.

It looks naff up close! I lost patients trimming the rh edge! I think I'll leave it to the pro's in future! ;)

cheers mate

Just make sure you find a place with good rep. I've seen some horrific attempts at a "professional" wrap.

Deep cuts into paint, piss poor prep work, cheap vinyl's. It's just like body shops, there is painting cars and then painting cars right.

Yeh, i saw a mk1 vee at SG Motorsport wrapped in matt black but the finish on it, like under the front bumper was horrid! Really looked naff!

i have my roof wrapped in this, also have my dash top (meg coupe) done in it too along with various buttons around the interior.
paid a pro to do my roof and he charged £130 for it (that was including the material) and i attampted the dash myself but i messed it up so ended up paying the same guy to do it for £40. the roof is really hard to keep looking nice though, lets the car down a bit if its not treated and the rest of the car is. and the stuff on the dashboard doesent like being there either in the heat lol. that was the downfall of my attempt. it kept lifting

I did my mrs wing mirrors on the lupo gti with 3m Di-noc and they looked really good! but sadly they kept lifting and then got water in the crease :-(
Smaller bits like the bumper stickers I have been making/selling have been brilliant! stay on what ever the weather

How on Earth do you stop it lifting?? as I have a huge roll of the stuff!!!!
