Wearing in Ferodo 2500 kit

i was just wondering how many miles these pads and disks take to wear in, i know in the past i have had to go easy on braking for about 100 miles before the pads and disks start propperly braking

is this the case with the ferodo 2500 pads / brembo carbon disks and hoses

You've got all new pads and discs?

I did about 250 miles of gentle braking to wear in the discs, then did a heavy braking session to wear in the pads - something like 4 x braking from 70 to 30 (have to accelerate up to speed in the shortest possible distance in between to keep them hot) then a final 100 down to 50.

Try not to stop until you've completed it and don't sit with your foot on the brakes when they're hot!

i've found the DS2500's feel a bit odd to start with, i normally suggest getting some heat into them (don't go mad) initally, but make sure you cool them down (ie drive without braking using the gears for a good 10min)

give it 200miles of normal driving before you abuse them

with the race pads we normally bed them in on the way to the circuit be left footing it down the motorway!!

Mine rubbed quite a bit and smoked without even applying any pressure to start with. As above, take it easy for about 250 then build it up.

Mine are wearing very well felt superb on track the other week.

I gave them one gentle session at Goodwood, and have been giving them death ever since.

Lots of smoke after the first session, but they've been consistant in feel and performance ever since.

I had my OE pads smoking the day i fitted them... b******s squeek like hell now

I currently have 2500 on my V6 and I do not like them at all. Not the performace I was expecting at all.

Your supposed to bed brakes in on new unused disks.
