Weird audio question-amp

Hi got a 4 channel Alpine amp that is 40w rms. Ive got some 75w rms infinty comps up front and did have pioneer emotions in the back but these are no longer used.

Is it possible to maybe bridge the 3rd and 4th channel into the 1st and 2nd respectively to bring the power up for the comps or will this sound sh*t and blow everything up?!?! Just wondering, never thought about it before!

Cheers
John

you would bridge ch1 and ch2 into say the left speaker and ch3 and ch4 into the right.

it will be marked on the amp which connections you use for bridged mode

usually, its the positive of channel 1 and the negative of channel 2, then the same for 3 and 4, the positive of 3 and the negative of 4

basically instead of using all 4 bits on channel 1 and 2, you only use 2 of them, you connect the other speaker to channel 3 and 4
