Well between us we have managed to convince the Mrs the 206 GTi is pants basically!

So we have had a look on the net and found a 172

What should we look for

good price if you like the mark 1

personaly i think it looks very dated compared to the mark 2.

seen a mark 2 on ebay for just over £8 k if you have that to spend

dunno i like the mk1

dont know of any specific things to look for except the usual, signs of crash damage service b ooks an the good old HPI check!

Its got full renault service history and is HPI clear! Not sure on the milage thou!

I prefer the Mk1 as they dont look as girly and its not quite as dated as my 16v is it!!

Thats a good price, my sis paid nearly 8k for hers 4 months ago, she got a 3 year warranty included.

If its just before 36k then theres a big service due, but 6.5K is a bargain anyway!!

I agree with some of the others, it depends whether you like the Mk1!!But its your money, so spend it wisely!!

This one was sold when we called them this morning!!

We test drove another on a W Plate for £7.7k

Wow what a responce you get when you put ya foot down, didnt really get much of a drive but didnt feel any quicker then the Valver

Still he is finding out what he will give us for the MGTF 135 and gonna give me a bell on Monday!
