Well I just couldn't wait any longer!

Hey Guys

I joined the forum a while back with the aim to modify my 1.6 Ph2, I already had a full powerflow exhaust with K&n Panel filter and since there I went for the K&n 57i induction kit and RSTuner remap.

The thing was I saw everyone elses car's on here and that gave me an itch....a huge itch!!

in Fact this one

Totally standard with belts and water pump done. clean inside and out too :)

I didn't put this in the projects section as I'm not doing anything to it....yet.

PS how can I tell what packs are on this?

Cheers Danny :)

Yeh I noticed the splitter missing, could always source a fabia one I guess.

you say it's cup packed, that both cup packs or one?

I think it has xenons, has cruise control and not sure what else differentiates the two. No idea on the springs.

Thanks Beasley, so in all I have a full fat 182.

Looking to get the Skoda splitter and debadge replacing the clio badge for the Renault sport one. Can this not be had for less than £40?

badges tend to be hard to get under £40 but can be found for about £30-£40

skoda splitter imo is a must , love mine think they look wrong without one fitted haha

The giveaway for the suspension pack is the anthracite wheels, obviously easily faked though so to be sure you need to measure the bolt spacing. Which bolt spacing exactly I'm not entirely sure ;)
Believe it's where the front strut bolts to the hub, is different on cup/non-cup 182s.
Gratz on the new car anyway, enjoy :)

Thanks masked unit :) I shall

Cheers Beasley, Just ordered the badge for £39 and the splitter for £17.

One more question sorry :p Which Ariel would you recommend? quite fancy a shark fin type

  172 Cup
Which Ariel would you recommend?
tbh I don't rate Ariels, I'd sooner a BAC or an Ultima.
But I don't think you'll be able to afford any of them if you're going round spending £39 on a badge.
Oh I'm sorry, you meant aerial, spelt that way and non-captialised didn't you :p
sorry :(

This is the bolt spacing between the two bolt holes at the bottom of the front suspension strut. 54/60mm

@op, great looking car, congrats

Thanks guys :) really chuffed now I've spent a bit more time with it, nearly said her :p This is before the really good clean that I'll be doing this weekend so hopefully be even shinier then :)

I'm also on the hunt for tyres, are Yokohama S Drive's any good?

Oh thanks for the aerial recommendation Beasley :)

RSTuner map this week just to sweeten it up a little.

Have so many little questions so hope I don't bug you guys too much

  182 Cup
When debadging the back I've seen people use various cards, what do you use to remove the muck afterwards?
I've used Autoglym Tar and Adhesive remover before on the cheap kickplates someone put on my cup, worked well for me!

Also, tyres wise Hankook EVOs get good comments, as do uniroyal rainsports. If you up the budget I've got Pirelli P Zero Neros that I find brilliant.

Be careful when taking the badge off Evo, use lots of hot water and dental floss/ cotton thread, one letter had been superglued on my rb:(

Another good thing for these is plastic spreaders, like the sort you'd use for Fibreglass, I did mine and not a mark on them.

Cheers Bright I'll have a look at the Hankooks, i'd go for the Pirelli P Zeros, but they're a bit too much for me just yet.

Thanks I nearly picked up the tar remover when in halfords this morning, picked up some wax as the car is getting the full works this weekend :)

So would the subway card not be feasible? I'll use hot water and see if i have any thread thanks RS 1an, would white spirit do similar? I don't want to mark the paint at all so really looking for the best way. harbringer I have a tool in my Toshiba tool kit that I use for opening laptops which is a little similar.

Cheers for your help guys

ps: can only see the Hankook's in 205/45/16 not 194/45/16

Probably the same thing, although they cost 40P each and can get at any DIY place, get some Rainsports on it though, you'll want them next time you forget your driving whilst talking on the phone, smoking a Zoot, drinking a can of special brew and doing you hair in the mirrior in the Piss*ng rain all at the same time and need to turn very quickly, they'll save your life.

i know its a little thing but silver indicator bulbs would sort the front right out. looks great...

cooksport springs + btm exhaust. DO IT!

harbinger 195's or 205's? I try not to do anything other then drive now, had a bad experience in the wet whilst eating a bag of malteasers.

Thanks Scotty I am well chuffed, I've been wanting to leave work and clean it all day.

Cheers for the tip Naith, I would like to get an exhaust and springs and arbs, and top mounts and v6 airbox and cams and itb's and and andd.... well just everything but budget wouldn't allow for everything just yet.

Need to find a decent specialist in the Bolton / Manchester area. or maybe a little further out if its a good one.

I think its becoming an obsession and it's only day 3 of 182 ownership

Defo 205's more expensive but everyone on here seems to use them as do I.

Not to sure on how far you'd travel but there's a chap on here called Fred@btm in B'ham he seems to be the man up there and from what I've read certainly knows his stuff.

Leave the V6 box out though, just buy either a viper or Ktec one, keep an eye of for sale section some proper gems pop up every now and then.

Thanks again Harbinger appreciate your help :)

ah cool, Naith do you only go there for major work or even the little things? and is there a website.

Was supposed to wait till weekend but she was getting dirty, gave a good polish which took me two hours.

Awesome mate looks like a lovely car you got there.. Nice to see you used your money to buy a sport rather than wasting money on mods for a 1.6 etc.

Super shiny, do love BG when it's clean. Looks like you got a good one.

Trouble is, that's usually for about 5 minutes...

Thanks Beasley, Actually saw the gold sparkle when the sun was on it which I didn't expect though it was just black.

Cheers Adamm. I'm glad I've finally took the plunge too, My insurance is cheaper on this than the 1.6 so bonus :)

Thanks Funk White, aye looks like I'm going to have to get into the routine of cleaning it every few days.

Looks shiny. Tbh if you're not over fussy BG isn't too bad to keep clean. We have a silver mx5 and a BG182. If the weather stays dry the BG will still look clean after a week (as long as you don't look too closely). If the weather's crap the BG will look filthy.. but so will the MX.
