I've had many vehicles and price per fun you cant really beat the Clio.
I'd hate to drive it everyday however it indeed makes me smile everytime I do get to drive it.
Fantastic value for money and dare I say one of the best sub 200bhp cars there is.
Totally different kettle of fish to the EP3, never owned a DC5 as always skipped it but I'm not overly sure for x4 price you'd get as much fun from one. (£ per fun).

Yep that's it, I can think of plenty of cars for 4x the budget, but they never tick all the boxes!
MartinR I haven't actually seen a rusty Clio - do they actually rust that much? I think the Valvers have seen a bit of rust, but not seen any on mk2's!

No Matt not yet seen a mk2 rusted up yet. Only rust i have seen is due to crash damage.
Mk1 valvers was/is a nightmare mine cost knocking on £450 in welding work to get it back from the brink.

Bare with me, as i'm looking for my first RenaultSport (and hot hatch)... I'm looking at a budget of around 2k-2.5k and preferably a PH2, not too fussed about colour

Well firstly we're buying a house and the Metro will be sat in a garage (I hope) so progress will be slow but I will be going down the 160 VVC route.
Clio's really do take some beating pound for pound and I miss mine like mad. On the other hand if I didn't sell it I'd still be sitting here wanting a DC5, at least I've got that out of my system!
Nato green makes any car better, regardless of what it is.
Man after my own heart, i've often toyed with the idea of doing that to the dog kennel,

Decent plans. Congratulations on buying a house best thing i ever did. Its that good that i'm weirdly excited about my new front door coming tomorrow flol.
Time to get the tools out of retirement to fit it.
Vw caddy looks great as soon as i saw it i thought "davedreads" lol.

yes it's dropped an exhaust valve on cylinder 2 lol
havent even touched the engine , just went to pop the shops and all hell broke loose

Not heard of a dci dropping one before.

Neither have I , usually it's timing belts failing/ fuel systems f**king up or bottom end bearings making a break for it.
Saying that, this was a second hand engine that me and the old retired guy at work rebuilt the bottom end on. The head just got cleaned and put back on.
So dam lucky the injector didn't get mullered in that lol
so plan is fix it , sell it and buy an old ford
