What Am I Looking For?

I bought myself a new headunit a couple of months ago and today when i went to wire up my sub and amp i realise that there was no connection in the back of my headunit to connect the wire from the amp into? So i am now looking on the net for a new headunit. What do i have to look for in the spec to insure i get a new headunit with an outlet for an amp wire?

For example i seen this headunit:

Does it have an outlet in the back cause in the spec it say "Rear/ Sub Switchable"

yes it will allow you to run an amp to power a sub, it has a pre-out

you dont have to buy a new hu,you can buy a line output converter,you will lose one set of speakers but save on a new hu

yeah i was at halfords tonight and they showed me the adaptor. they said i will lose either my front or rear speakers and i may have problems with interferance through my sub. Never thought at the time when i purchased my headunit to see if it came with the pre-outlet. Just thought all headunits came with the outlets

Also if a headunit only has 1 pre-outlet do you have to get an adaptor to fit the 2 connections that is on the wire from the amp?

if your on about the phono leads yes.you wont get interference itll just be harder to set your sub up as it will have to be done through the amp so need a good quality one
