what are these pipes?

  182 cup
i can get a pic but someone may be able to anaswer without me going to the hassle of uploading one.

i parked infront of my 182 yesterday in my gti facing the front of it and noticed a couple of pipes hanging down from the bottom of the bumper near the passenger side foglight

had a lok and the hung down about 3 inches each,

1. plastic feel with ribbed housing, i follwed this one best i could and it seemed to go the the top of the battery and stick in the side of it...? overflow maybe?

2. this pipe is rubber tube and i cant follow t as it vanishes into the bumper ad up toward the wing i think

it has a white circle ar the end and looks like it should carry water?

both are obviously not meant to hang that low as a speed bump could easily rip them off....

anyone know what they are, and where they should be connected?

if they are just overflows i'll zip tie the up inside bumper

best to check first though with tge experts :)

plastic one is breather for battery

the rubber pipe will be for the headlight washers, your right they both should be up in there, the headlight washer pipe surprisingly has loads of length on it for no reason. so it can sit mega low. take front half of arch liner off and cable tie them up a bit, dont squash rubber pipe.

ah right thanks

does the rubber one not have to be connected to the headlight washer?? why would headlight washer have an overflow?
