Ive been offered an enclosed i/k for my valver, its currently got a piperx open air filter...how much do u reckon its losing me?

only a few bhp and some torque midrange, but id run the std airbox.....ive not seen any good filter arrangements for the valver.

Both standard except mine has an ITG. Mid range seems better on the older car.

the lightened flywheel we fitted also makes a large difference to response....

little goodies going on soon as well eh ross.... even better response.

I reverted to an airbox and green panel filter on my valver, i could notice the low down power increase instantly and theres a little removable panel on the airbox too which i removed, need some cold air feed to finish it but its defo better.

Is there any benefits on the 172s by cutting additional holes on the std airbox? Im not familiar with the location but on some cars its possible if there is a cold air gap in the bonnet area just in front of the box...
