What determins limiter change (182)

Hey guys, reason i ask is i drove my car down the motorway, a good 20 miles, then driving spirited as id call it for a good 4 -5 mins before it gave me full revs ?

Is that right ?

Cheers

You'll hit a 6750rpm limiter untill the engine reaches optimum oil temperature... then you'll get the full 7250rpm

On honda's vtec don't kick in yo, till it's warmed up properly. When it's cold they only go to 4.5k or something like that. The clio works along the same lines, without the vtec yo (obviously)

Driving along the motorway can cool the oil I think. When I had my Punto GT, it would get quite cool when driving at 65-70 along a motorway. (could tell as had a oil temp gauge.)

Maybe that's why you had the cold limiter?

drive in a higher gear so engine warms a bit quicker, ie keep in 2nd at 30 rather than 3rd, 3rd at 50 rather than 4th etc.

Its 85c coolant temp for the higher limiter and VVT, not oil temp there are no oil temp sensors on an 1*2 F4R engine.
