What have you done to your car today ???

Get yourself a drivers floor foot rest panel. Brings your feet back up to the correct height your carpet would have been. Stops your heels snagging on the floor strengthening panel.
Oh and yes this is on the list. But I cant do it until I've worked out how to get the seat lower and further back. If I raise my feet as it is now my knees will be hitting the wheel.

Tescos overflow carpark? I went to one near me to give it a quick alignment before
Yeah ive done that before, started stripping the clio in a pub carpark lol. For big jobs I like being at the parents where all my/my dads tools are. I need to rent a garage near where I live really, more money though :p

Oh I knew I forgot something! I'm just preparing the car for it to be fitted. It looks like I need to remove the metal frame that supports the dash but its attached to steering column so didnt fancy messing with it today. (I have to put it all back together each time and drive it home). I also need to drive it to the place where the cage is being fitted. Stessed tbh.
What sort of cage are you having? Is it a bolt in? If so some cages wont need you to cut the metal frame as it'll thread through and down to the floor.. If it's a Fulcrum Motorsport one then definitely not..

Its a sparco 6 point bolt in mate, from what I can tell it will be right up against the bulkhead in the way of the metal frame at the sides. I'll double check this though!

When are you at beford next? I need to try it out this year.

You should be ok with the cage.. what you have to do is cut away the bottom dash area around the side air vents and lose the piping to them, also you'll need to relocate the fuse box...

Bedford is booked for a pre-Nurburgring shake down for march 30th..

Yeah I figured there will be some cutting required somewhere, I'm going to slim down the bottom dash a lot anyway so it's all good.

I'll take a look and maybe get booked on the 30th too (y)

There were a few bits in that picture that have since been removed, scuttle cover being one of them. I probably will remove the boot and door seals. It's going tomorrow. I have managed to salvage most bits worth having. I am running out of space to store bits 😂

Finally got around to replacing the boot struts, they'd got to the point where they'd only hold the boot open if the car was facing downhill.

Couldn't quite stomach the rip-off price for OE replacements, and I'm glad I didn't as these £13.95 jobbies seem much nicer quality than the originals:

The boot now opens like Zebedee on Viagra.

Cleaned the inside. Hoovered about half a tonne of stones out of the drivers side and after a wipe with some auto finesse stuff it smells nice too😊. Scratched the auto button on the cc though 😭.

No, dead easy. Just pull the spring clips off the original ones, and push them off, just mind the hatch doesn't come down on your head when you do it (it's a lot heavier than it looks). Then clean up and grease the mount points and the new ones just push on.

My hatch wasn't opening all the way today as the struts are obviously a bit stiff. I put some GT-85 on the stanchions and they're fine now.

My car is with Powerflow exhausts in Brighton today getting a new custom made cat back exhaust. I took it there to see if I could get the baffles repaired in the backbox, but it's a s**t system that's had a not particularly good silencer poorly welded and clamped to the original mid-pipe. There was a crack in it and most of the rubber mounts were nearly gone. So It's £380 + VAT for a new exhaust. Warrantied for life, so should see me out.

Some of the options I could choose from for tailpipes were truly horrific, like a twin 5" rainbow dipped nightmare. I've gone for a fairly large back box and a resonator (so I don't upset the neighbours or get that 2k rpm drone) with a 3" rolled tailpipe that looks similar to the OE 182 tailpipe. I could have gone for a stealth option to keep it original looking but the droopy things looked a little sad on the shelf. I'm not cutting the bumper though so I will look a little bit of a chav, but I can live with that.

Which Clio have you put your power flow on ?

Same as yours! I'll post some pics and a video up if you are thinking of one. As they're custom made I imagine each one is different. They do offer a remap with the exhaust but I'm too tight to pay £500 or whatever for a dubious 4bhp...

Mines made 189bhp with just an exhaust filter and map 👀

Got the chance to finish fitting a new battery tray today after I noticed mine had one of the mounts snapped off. It's made a noticeable difference the the gear change and power delivery seems sharper, it had been moving around a lot going by the wear mark's.
