isn't the 9887 imprint ready?
I run Imprint and it really makes a difference!

The 9887 is indeed Imprint ready and if you really wish to go to town I believe it can also take the older H701 and H901 processors :smile:.

I am trying to keep things simple however ; the 9887R is a great unit and a very flexible one out of the box. The 9855R probably comes close but the GlideTouch can be a pain to use and it cannot use Imprint or Bluetooth.

Chucked some OEM brembo pads in to save the CL RC6 I have for track and to help with the nipping too the shops because the RC6 squeal like a MoFo. And took my ITG Maxogen too bits to clean the filter, left it on the workbench in my shed too dry as it was still damp after 2 hours lol hopefully be dry and I can re-oil and re-fit it tomorrow.

Did you take all the LEDs off in one go? I did them one by one testing them as I went!
Did the four mileage display ones, then tested. Then did the rest, tested, fuel and temp gauge didn't work. Polarity correct bit swapped them for different LEDs and they worked fine. Only thing I'm worried about is the needle placement. Is it a case of running the car with the dash off and placing the needles back on with it running knowing where they should be?

The stepper motors have end stops on them. Turn the motor spindles all the way anticlockwise until they come up against the end stop. Then put the needles on half way up the gauges (e.g. 80mph, 4000rpm etc) and push them down to your 0 marks (Which of course you marked off beforehand... didn't you?).

When you say push them down to my 0 marks, is that pushing pushing them round on the spindle so that the end stop lines up with my 0 mark?

When I do it, I mark where the needles sit at their lowest positions on a piece of masking tape stuck on the dial face. Afterwards, I push the needles down so that they sit on those marks. The 0 marks are lower than the first marks printed on the dial faces which is why it's important to mark them beforehand, but for the record in the picture above all the needles appear to be in the right place. If that's the farthest down each one will go without hitting the end stops then you're lucky.

The 'to do' list with my car is shrinking slowly but surely.

For quite some time, well, since I bought the car the reversing lights have never worked. Car parks have been interesting to say the least. I heard that the gearbox sensor was an issue here but I thought I would check the car out first, given that the gearbox has to be partially drained for the sensor to be fitted due to its location.

After obtaining a new reversing sensor, establishing that it went to a dead short upon closing I shorted the wires out on the car with the ignition on. Sure enough the reversing lights worked for the very first time ever in my ownership. With that in mind I ordered 4 litres of Elf's finest; Elf Tranself NFJ 75W80 GL4+ gearbox oil. With some food grade plastic tubing and a funnel I was ready to get stuck in.

Whilst I was draining the gearbox oil I cleaned the misting oil around the selector shaft and noticed a slight amount of play in one of the linkages ; I shall have to put up a seperate thread to look into changing the parts.

What was strange was how clean the gearbox oil was that came out of the gearbox! Maybe it had been done before. However, with the new Elf stuff in the gearbox is now pretty much silent :smiley:. Furthermore the gear changes have improved from cold. It also helps that people can see where I am reversing now! It is nice when a job works out like this :smile:.

Now to look into changing the bush/rod at the bottom of the gearbox in an effort to improve the gearchanges. Any ideas if the parts are available seperately?

Took the door bullets off her to spray up and put on the cup, nabbed a fresh intake elbow as the old one had been cut down

Not done today...but all sat ready and waiting for fitment. Nothing at all wrong with the subframe that's currently on the car. Just being a fussy tit and want the car looking and feeling new.

I havnt done anything today but i`m too excited to wait til thursday....thats when i get fitted..deep Breath.....Air con pump,idle belt guide pulley,steering rack bushes and front outer arb bushes....Then its a blast over to Barmouth to test all`s well again on Saturday.

cheers. Wheel was £80 and knob was £25. Boss came with the car so saved £50. I do have a cheap mountney corsa d shape wheel for sale I interested! £20. Bought as a toe in the water before getting the omp. Its a bit flexy but miles better than a standard melty wheel.

Took my car to the Wheel Alignment Centre in Southampton. Two degrees out and pulling left. All sorted now. Headlight washer jets replaced too as the previous owner had blocked them off.

They were cleaned up and powdercoated by the previous owner (I got what you see in this pic with the car)
I'll be sending the old one off to "Blastcoat" in wales to have done along with a few other bits and bobs.

Tried out some Bouncers Done and Dusted QD that came in the post, thanks to the cat I had an area to try it on. Smells amazing and works really well. The only thing that was irritating was the spray trigger instead of producing a spray, produced a drizzle. Not sure if it's supposed to be like this?

Polished my tip (oooer) and removed the renault ELF sticker as part of it had been torn off.
Purchased a PMS strut brace to go with the top mounts - sadly the seats not mine though it's made me think about seat options for track.
