Used my DAS 6 pro for the first time, not perfect correction yet but still 10 times better than before I started, it's almost a different colour now.

For when your car is too low to easily get a trolley jack in there or onto your ramps, it's time for mini ramps. A couple of old shelves, a few screws and an electric planer - simples.

Just enough height, especially on my gently sloping drive to squeeze underneath, do an oil change etc.

More paint correction and polishing, DAS 6 pros are great cant believe it's taken me all these years to invest in one.
I'd always thought I got a good finish by hand but a DA gets a such a good finish even on my 17 year old paint

Removed subframe assembly, rear beam and Whiteline ARB, broke down to individual parts, stripped all the bushes bolts and sensors off then took them to powder coaters for a refresh yesterday. Today I'll be taking the Trendlines out to try polish the scratches out the plastic backs from my kids kicking them and give them a shampoo and general clean up then do the floor carpet.

Today was a massive attack. In the morning I had my gearbox swapped back in with my repaired Gripper diff also adding my TTV flywheel at the same time. Then I spent the afternoon/evening refitting my seats and adding a few bits and bobs. Ie carbon protectors, mini one use extinguishers, custom carpet. And gave it a bit of a clean.

Finally got round to fixing some of the damage done to my car interior by a local "Garage"
First a wipe down with a cloth to get some grime off
IMG_20190705_173458.jpg
Passenger side
IMG_20190705_173452.jpg
Drivers side. Disgusting ?
Then used a degreaser on the plastics and leather to get the last of the dirt and oil off.
IMG_20190705_151130.jpg
Now to get started on the cloth
IMG_20190705_151354.jpgMVIMG_20190705_151331.jpg
Shampoo and scrub, repeat 3 times to make sure it's well worked in.
IMG_20190705_154849.jpg
Then got the wet vac out and used some AAA carpet cleaner to remove all the shampoo, grease, grime and God knows what else.
IMG_20190705_174256.jpg
IMG_20190705_173800.jpg
Then a bit of leather care product to finish off.
I think they turned out really good considering how bad they looked when they came out the car. Needless to say none of my cars will go near that Garage again.

The passenger seat wasn't sliding at all either when it came back so thought I'd have a look while they were drying. Got it sliding forward and backwards but then it wouldn't lock in place so wouldn't be a safe or pleasant ride for the person seated there while I was driving ?.
Had a further poke around and took the rails off completely and finally found the culprit
IMG_20190705_212920.jpgIMG_20190705_212900.jpg
A little alloy tooth lock had snapped off inside the rail.
Had a look around online for a replacement but couldn't find the part number of the frames for sale anywhere and most replacement Recaro rails upwards of £150 ?. Luckily after having a look at a spare rail of a 172 seat found that the kind people at Recaro have just used Renault rails and fitted them to their subframes. Which was nice ?.
MVIMG_20190705_210546.jpg
Swapped out the broken rail for one off the spare seats and all sorted for free. Yey

Stripped the fuel cap down to begin treating the rust, wasnt as bad as I'd thought but still not great (photos needed) but the worst bit is the rust that's got under the underseal near the rear light. Not looking forward to getting access to it

@DomP182 it's definitely better to deal with it sooner rather than later as I discovered with one of mine Access isn't too bad with splash guards off and fuel filler neck is only 2 nuts and you can bend it down and out of the wheel arch.

Oh does the neck come out? That would be useful.

Here's mine from the inside

Think it might only be one nut actually. If you follow the neck down to where it turns 90deg under the boot floor it is bolted up into the floor close to the inner arch. On the picture next to the strut you'll see the point on the filler neck where it fastens to the floor.
This was mine after wire wheeling and coating in rust converter overnight IMG_20190622_161623.jpg
Mine has gone too far and in future I'll need to cut out the affected area and have plate welded in. For the time being though I used a zinc mesh and primer then covered in P38 and sealed it with waxoil til I've got money to have it done properly.

Mines not quite that bad I dont think. Yeah i found that bolt cheers, does it just bend down out of the way?

Yeh just cup the locking filler cap in the palm of your hand if you don't want it scratched against the wing and pull it down guiding it out through the wheel arch and it will just hold itself there out of the way of your drill or grinder while you get to work.

The rust is worse than I first thought? I've found a hole! Get it back to bare metal then fill over it?

Paid a visit to Royal Steering wheels to have my new re-trimmed steering wheel fitted. Perforated leather on the sides, with yellow band at 12 o’clock and yellow stitching. Really happy with it.... :)

That's exactly how I went mine, but with blue trim.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it.

£175 including fitting on an exchange basis. You tell him want you want, pay him a £50 deposit, he makes the wheel, you drive to him, he takes your old one off and puts your new one. Nice and simple....

Replaced the mess of a clutch, release bearing and arm that I found when removing the gearbox.
Gearbox has also had new 3rd to 4th selector fork, clutch guide tube, output shaft bearings, large diff bearing, satellite gears inside the diff, selector seal and some other bits.
Whining noise is now gone and clutch is silly light.
Some photos of the previous clutch, safe to say it was fecked!

Got to sort the tracking out now and fit the front camber bolts I've had kicking about in a drawer for donkeys
