What have you done to your car today ???

  Audi s3
Attempted to start it up for the first time.

Base map loaded on, fuelled up pressed the button and couldn’t quite get it to fire up, started pissing fuel out the regulator so had to quickly sort that.

Will give it another blast tonight

Finally got around to replacing the standard washer jets with the mist Citroen ones. Also spent about £200 on parts today plus £70 on service parts yesterday, RIP my bank account.

Took my side skirts off to straighten the bent jacking points, having just done my fuel filler rust I thought i might as well carry on.

Quite pleased with what I found except where grit has rubbed through the paint slightly where the top of the skirt meets the sill so I might have to rub some small areas back and touch up carefully. Several coats of Deox gel going on

Took both front hubs off the car to get the bearing replaced on one and the hub replaced on the other, got quoted £300 to do both by a garage. Only costing me £50 to get someone to press the old ones out and the new ones in for me.

Well worth the 4 hours to get them off :)

A good saving ?

Changed the front discs and pads on the wife's car after 7 months of being fucked about by the garage that fitted the noisiest pads ever to a shopping car. If these start to squeal it's going in the river.

Old fucked ones, I'm guessing they didn't bother to check for any lip on the disc as both inner pads had a big step on the outer edge.

Gave the Cup a much needed bath. Was going to give it a proper going over with the machine polisher but patchy rain put paid to that. It really is in need of some paintwork correction.
Ended up using some old Jeffs Werkstat stuff I had kicking about instead.
Fitted some camber bolts yesterday and set the alignment up on it too.

Took my crank sensor off and gave it a clean as the car has been cranking but not firing every now and then the last few weeks. Would have been an easy job had I not had the climate control pack fitted on my cup meaning two awkwardly placed pipes in the way!

Replaced the plugs and fitted the bracket to strap the phase 1 air box to. Only had it about a year.

I do have one of Marc’s battery covers in the garage I should probably stick back on.

Finished retrimming/painting my headlining/handles etc, fitted front camber bolts, did alignment, new top mounts, new lca's, gave it a service.

Pretty chuffed with how the headlining came out.

Nice, got anymore pics of the headlining and trims? What did you retrim them with?

Only this one, I can get some more later. I bought 3m of 1.5m wide suede off Ebay and some trimfix. I have done a few cars in the past that I used to own, always prefer darker coloured headlinings. I painted the handles, sun visors and light surround with Halfords satin black paint, with some plastic primer underneath.

I do prefer black headlining etc. Always liked that in my old Golfs.

Looks a good job you’ve done there 👍🏻

Did you glue the headlining back in or just rely on the grab handles etc to hold it up, I did the latter but my redo it as it's a bit loose feeling

whats the v6 actually like to drive? is it as special as it looks?
Yes, but not in the usual sense. It's fast but not ballistic, it handles well but it's not as good as a 1*2, it's the sense of occasion and the noise that makes it an event. It gets quite a lot of attention everywhere it goes.

No, I pulled the headlining out on a hot day and all the glue came with it, wasn't really doing much and only a small amount was on there. Seems solid where I've put it back in, didn't see any need. I reckon they used to stick them to the roof during assembly to make putting the rest of the interior back in.

  Clio 182 Trophy
Big day for mine today as finally went for MOT after being sorned for a year while I saved the cash to buy everything needed to get it through the next mot. Have been using what little spare time I have to fit everything then it went off to the specialist for the big belt service & a few other bits beyond my capabilities.

It was a tense wait while it was going through... but it passed with no advisories! Was so chuffed as Mot testers said it looked great underneath & all were interested in the trophy’s suspension. They did ask where the cat from the exhaust had gone.... Finally get to drive my car again :D Feels great, so happy today.

Washed out the drivers side front wheel arch, coated it in Dynax UB - might regret that as it stays quite waxy, fitted some new arch liners to replace what was left of the old ones.

Realise I should have made this a project thread
