I'm putting the blame squarely on it being at a garage at some point and it being removed then! I wouldn't have removed it and left it off.... :)

Your slam panel has been off and replaced as I am sure I remember it missing the Renault stickers.

Out with the shitty Pipercross foam air filter and in with the Ramair.

Found it much easier to fit with the battery temporarily removed (probably not essential) - but glad I did as the right-side battery retainer clip was very loose.

Me being me and finding a rattle-can of Hammerite knocking about - I had to tart-up the two battery brackets and airbox support to look a bit nicer at least.

A bit of wire-brushing and wipe down for these...

Got them looking better after a few light coats.

Got around to fitting the rear GAZ Golds today, I know you need to fettle the inner arch/body on the NSR but holy s**t I didn't realise how much you need to beat the living s**t out of it.

Is that because they are coil on shock design you had to get the hammer out?
Yeah rather than the old divorced shock and spring setup, the GAZ Golds are a true coilover. OSR has enough space between the spring and body that you could house a small CS.net forum member.

I went and got the 172 out last night. I haven't driven it in about six weeks. It has just touched 91k and the right indicator that didn't work (so I thought it was the UCH) has sorted itself out. Good car!!

Went to swap the door handles over on my sons merc since the replacement doors have a chrome strip on the handles and the body shop didn't paint them when they did the doors. But...

Ordered a spoiler from AliExpress to which the seller has contacted me saying it will leave a gap between it and the roof and will I be happy with that 🤔

To resolve selector leak. Did you pull the box out or buy one of those kits that allow the box to stay in situ?

My girlfriend's car has developed a fault with the rear seatbelt sensors, where they randomly beep a warning despite being done up correctly. I decided to quickly stop the noise by simply disconnecting the little display/speaker in the interior light panel. (Pic for reference, the part with the sticker on)

Was very simple to remove, and unplugging one connector completely solved the issue 👌🏻

Unfortunately as I gently pressed it back into place, every single plastic clip snapped off so I had to remove it completely and now there's just a big hole where the display should be (another pic for reference)

I'm starting to think I should stop trying to work on cars 🤣

The Clio finally got some love today and my mate came over to weld in the front half of the cage, so now I've got that fully fitted and ready for the rebuild.

Just needs the dash bar and dash trimming.
And the wiring sorted.
And the fire extinguisher plumbed in.
And the bonnet and boot pins fitting.
And the front towing eyes.
And a lower balljoint.
And perhaps a wheel bearing.
And then geo/corner weighting.

Not much then...

Bit of work yesterday on the megane r26 i fitted ecumaster black to a few month back.

Oem throttle was flapping all over on boost. No bolt on options so had a spare inlet manifold modified for bosch motorsport throttle. Local fabricator tig welded new flange on and i modded it for the cooksport fuel rail last week. Much die grinding😬

Fitted all of it yesterday and wired in the new throttle.

Crimp and dual wall heatshrink for solid reilable connections.

Done.

Note the s**t ill fitting intake and foam filter on the turbo in previous pics. Replaced for Brigsyspec intake. Also replaced poor fitting slicone hose on boost pipe from turbo.

Dbw calibration done on ecumaster software.

Checked function was ok and started up. Adjusted idle a bit on settings. Datalogged on road test to check afr and throttle is ok. All issues are cured, throttle stays open no flapping. New intake sounds loads better on liftoff.

Fuelling and boost still bang on the money so give it a good few pulls. All i can say is this is fast on high boost now, owner said it feels mega. Its back to Efi for a map tweak as it needs idle tweaking slightly and see if we can turn it up a little more as throttle limited it last time. Be interesting to see if it will make more than 430hp as only at 24psi boost.

My 182 decided a few weeks back that it didn't like starting. Further investigation and it was the starter motor so got that replaced.

The other day it drove to the gym fine and then wouldn't start. Had to get it jumped. Seems like the battery had gone. Just swapped the battery whilst absolutely sweating my balls off and it started lovely first try.

I bought the 182 little over a year ago knowing it was a bit of a rough one. Was going through the list of things I've done to it with my mate yesterday.

So far, the Clio has had out of me:

1. A full service including spark plugs.
2. Post cat O2 sensor
3. Timing belt, dephaspher and water pump.
4. New front tyres.
5. Passenger air bag wiring fixed
6. New brake discs and pads all around
7. New starter motor.
8. New battery.
9. Replacement injector cover as that was completely missing.

It needs some more stuff doing to it, including a good detail, but the next things on the to do list are:

1. The high brake light in the cup spoiler has gone. I've ordered the replacement PCB from JMRS.

2. It's got rust in the fuel filler cap so need that sorting at some point.

I must be getting close to spending what I initially paid for the car, but I love the little French turd.
