lost control on a bend down a country lane on the way home....back end slid out, opposite lock applied across both lanes and slammed into a kerb and up a verge

mullered alloy and brand new tyre :(.......wasn't even going fast, the back roads are starting to get slick at night!!

You sound lucky! Could've been a lot worse.

It is only gonna get worse leading up and in to the holiday so be safe people. Hooning on the track is fine but hooning on the roads has real consiquences. There's been a few too many "RIP CS'er" threads lately.

Over the last few days I've done:
182 exhaust manifold conversion with ktr link pipe.
New exhaust manifold gasket
New cat to manifold gasket
New cat to centre section gasket
Yanoo stiff shift (got my ph1 gear knob off without scratching it :D)
New inner anti roll bar bushes (pita of a job!)
New bottom ball joints
New track rod ends
New nearside outer cv gaiter
Changed gearbox oil
Just need to get the wheel alignment sorted now.

Really need to stop spending money on this old shed.

Oh and fitted an uprated dog bone mount. Don't like it, might swap it back

Did you drop the subframe or just pull the engine forwards? How's the link pipe to, fit okay?

Dropped it (well actually took it off) I don't think you'd be able to do it by just pulling the engine forward tbh.
Link pipe fits perfect tbh can't fault it.
Had to do the job as my btb exhaust is phase 2 length and didn't really fit properly.

I asked as I've heard horror stories about them but I've never fitted one myself.

You should get yourself booked booked onto the Passion Ford day at Bedford in Feb and bring it out to play.

Mick you doing blyton on the 15th mate

Still don't know until Tuesday night. I'm hoping so and the wife has granted me a day playing but if the engine takes a step backwards I'd sooner spend the money putting it right.

What kind of horror stories? Only thing "wrong" with it is that the holes are a bit big so had to use some washers.

I'd like to do a track a track day or two but wouldn't know where to start and knowing my car it'd cost a few hundred notes in repairs every time

Just poor fitment (eg. Too long).

There will be loads of people there with tools and spares so don't talk like Dave. If it breaks we can fix it... make it stronger... better... faster!

Seriously though sign up, you will love it.

Also fitted new front brembo hc discs and brembo pads.. can't go wrong for less than £62 delivered! Whilst I was swapping these I found one of the caliper slider bolts was seized so sorted that out too.

Was perfect length imo (that's what she said!) I'm guessing those people didn't realise you can actually adjust the rear exhaust bracket as the holes for the bolts are elongated and you can choose how far you put the exhaust hanger into the bracket too so that should be easily enough adjustment to fit it to any exhaust.

Haha well Dave and I have similar luck with french hatchbacks!!

Yeah it gets my goat this one as it only see's the road once a month. I'm considerimg just using my trade plates to get it to and from trackdays

Errr you even have to think about it? Thats an extra trackday a year you know ;)

  Listerine & Poledo
Was going to wash it.
Then realised there was rain coming.
So just detailed my headlights with a damp cloth.

  Megane R26
Accelerator cable snapped on my 16v Rallye, ran it through the window instead and drove it Home!

  Renault Clio182 bean
Fitted my new KTR / Janspeed Super Sport exhaust system :), now off to clean it. This car gets my undivided attention every weekend, the missus can't be happy :p

  big boost cup
Removed everything from inside the scuttle panel trial fitted a fuel tank in there.
Mans removed the heater system with a big hammer

  CursedTitanium 182FF
Found a SnapOn Solus Ultra Diagnostic Scanner 12.4 by the side of the road on our business estate outside my work, so after familiarising myself with it I cleared all my stored fault codes & turned off my ABS & Airbag lights before giving it back to the garage down the road. Be rude not to lol.

Turned out the garage owner put it on the boot of an Audi, then jumped in forgetting about it & drove off. He said "You just saved my Christmas" I should think so looking at the price of them
