what is a group c car?

hi, ive been set a project but i dont know what a group c car is and i cant find any information on the net.

im assuming it doesnt mean tax band c, because thats only like a sort of like 1.2l engine and they normally let us make it a bit more interesting.

if you interested, my project is:

" Consider that you are part of the team responsible for the initial design of a new car which falls into one of the following categories:

• Group C hatchback
• Sports coupe using a Group C platform"

the only info i find on the net was from like rental companies who all categorise there cars differently.

is it something like a rover 45 / toyota corrola size thing?

Group C could refer to a lot of things.

You say this is a "project".. What course (or who) set this project?

group c is a racing series that raced on a certain ammount of fuel theres loads on the net about it

ye i know bout the grp c racing, but im nt sure that is it that.

pretty sure its just a theoretical prodution car, everythign else we been doing is.

ive searched c segment and now got what i think i want. all seem to be mid size cars, corolla, focus, MPVs etc.

must be them i recs

they mean the 'C Segment'...

Mondeo, Vectra, Passat et al

...although they might mean the Focus, Astra, Golf group...:S confusing as fcuk

more confusing for you then..... when i hire a car from Enterprise, a group D car refers to Astra/Focus sized vehicle.... A group C is a Corsa/Fiesta sized vehicle to them....
