What is this? And can i re-locate?

  None :(
Hey all....

I want to fit a stright pipe to my v6 air box, instead of a 45' bend, and i was wondering if i could re-locate the following "bit" in the engine bay which i've circled in the photo below. OR instead of moving it as space is already very limited, can i not just keep the cables around it and kinda inside it, but move this metal block out the way so the air box can go there? I'm sure you know what im getting at here.....

Not sure the name of it, so i couldnt search for existing threads. :(

Any help / thoughts much appreciated.

That is the cars ECU mate - And yes it can easily be moved as far as i know as a few on here have the induction set up you are on about!

the ECU! Wow ok, see you learn something new every day :)

Has anyone had any problems with this being moved? I can understand the metal is there to protect it i imagine?

Lay the ECU down on the gearbox side engine mount, you will need to remove all the casing etc, i never got it finished but the major work was done as you can see, sounded awesome

Ah brilliant, this was the type of answer i was looking for, thank you very much James.

Was it sucking enough cold air without a CAF? i think i may try it just to see the sound anyways :)

No worrys, hope it helps, the plan was to finish it off with x2 70mm cold airfeeds straight down to below the headlight, but did take it for a cheeky test drive without the cold airfeeds
