what is this door mesh thing behind the door card

As aboove, it also makes the door more rigid.

Mines removed and i put a piece of sound deadening that weighed less and had more effect.

ah so i can remove it then does it do anything to the glass atall? as my car is pushing alot of air and movement and last thing i want to do is blow out the glass in the door i will be doing probs 2 layers of 2mm sound deadening so the door should be pretty rigid

If thats what they call side protection then we're all screwed...

I removed mine and it did not look like it could withstand me stood on it nevermind a car smashing in to it.

Ive seen people get 4mm and 2mm sheets behind there. Understand this though, deadening only needs about 35-50% coverage max, sound proofing needs as much as possible.

the whole door skin will be deadened and the outer skin if i can i will cover the majority of that to get the inside of the door as sealed as possible for the speakers
