What next??

Im after some more power from the 172. Not looking for another 100 bhp. Dont want NOS/turbo/s-charger.

So far i have done decat/exhaust/air filter/remap

Just feels like there is more to come and another few bhp would make it more fun to drive and possible make it feel fast.

Seen a RS ported intake manifold on the bay, are these real? Does it make much difference? Anyone got any dyno plots of before and after with ported manifold??

Around 8-13hp is what's quoted. And yes they are real. lol.

The only way to get proper power out of these engines is ITB's, Chargers, Turbo's. ITB's being cheaper than the rest by a fair bit.

170hp n/a is never going to feel much when you drive a 2.7 twin turbo.....

Matched inlest did nothing for me except releive me of £170
oh.. and at motorway cruising speeds the rpms had dropped by 100,
no real power increase that I could feel.

drove back at 80 and they were at 3900rpm.

Maybe my rev counter's haunted,
TBH demonic posession of the dashboard would probably give me more power than the f*cking matched inlets did!

I think the manifold give improved mid range torque and power and not peak power gains. Guess i will have a look around for some ITB's and not waste my time/dosh on an inlet manifold! 182 exhaust manifold and ITB's seems the next logical step.
I know this frog hatch isnt ever going to be as fast as the RS4, but i think with a few more ponies it will be almost as entertaining to drive.
