What Oil do you use on your 1*2

What oil do guy's use in your 1*2s and how often do you change it! I am used to every 3k on the scooby! Lol I was thinking of using Silkolene PRO S 5W-40 Ester Synthetic! What do you think!

yes good oil mate, i change mine every 6k, but only because mine is high mileage and i like to keep everything tip top

Yep tis good stuff i'd go with that, used to change mine every 5k in the 172 although 6k will be more in keeping with the renault service intervals.

Thanks for the replys lads is any body using a 50 grade oil? or is 40s ok in these cars for hard driving and track day just trying to find out what the score is with these crazy little cars!

"On" the 172 I prefer a wax, Dodo Juice or Collinite

In the engine I use Elf Evolution SXR from Renault - great stuff

Renault mate, doesn't seem too expensive for 5 litres, think i paid just over £30 last time I went down there. That was roughly 2 months ago.

Nice One for the replies I can see you all stick to the 5w/40 I don't think I will be using the Elf stuff as it is not a Ester biased Synthetic! which means it is probably hydro cracked oil! so I will go with 5w/40 Silkolene PRO S or MOTUL as these are a real full Synthetic!

Silkolene is a very good oil, especially in high revving applications.

Halfords fully synth that matches the required spec. set out by Renault. Changed when service schedule says. Car uses very little oil and produces good power, delighted with it.
