its still going to say 1.2 on the logbook so cheap to insure!!!
if you have an accident your insurance wont cover you as you havent told them the conversion!
if you want to change the log book you need to send dvla the engine number and the recipt of the garage who fitted it!you fit it yourself and you cant change the log book!you run somone over and kill them your going to jail!
get a proper clio sport!!!!
You're always late too? :dapprove:

Crazy decision really.

You're going to change everything apart from the basic shell, just to say you've done it?

Then more to insure it. The only bonus is that you'll pay less tax. But it'll take you a while to make it back on that basis.

You'll have to pay more for a heavily modified car. If you don't declare it, then you're an idiot. But tax goes off the original car. Strange rule really but how it is.

And I've ignored it about 9898034 times so far. It's not a ClioSport. It's a RenaultSport Clio. Argh.

Are the Clio sport hubs and disks the same as the same 1.2 subframe hubs and disk's?

My reasoning is Money coming mid October I've got money hanging around and would want to buy something to start this project off I need new brakes for the 1.2 and was just wondering if they would be the same fitment as Clio sport updrated brakes would fit..

Rear axl will be changed when doner car arrives with Braided hoses all around.

  53 Clio's & counting
No I wasn't doing that about younot knowing dude - I just think you are wasting your money with the conversion - il shut up now about it.

Anything else you want to know about?

what happens when he comes to change the engine on the log book with the dvla and he doesent have a receipt from the garage who fitted it?

  inferno 182.
that dont matter! i sent of the docs for my escos rep to change the engine capacity and they did say they cant do it without the recipt and proof it was done by a rep garage so they sent me back the log book wit 1.8 gti on it!! if he drops a f4r in it and some suspention mods bt for the 1.2 and keep it standard looking i think more respect and worth more!!! and pi** a load of people off when you blow them away!!!!:D

reason i ask is my 1.6 meggy will soon be a 2.0 turbo so changing the logbookw ill be something i need to be looking into soon

  inferno 182.
dont really matter about the og book as long as you tell the insurance company your covered!!! to change the log book you need to send them the engine number!!! and dvla will run that through a computer to make sure its not stolen!! and recipt from a garage with a reputation to say its been fitted correct!!! also in your case if your pwer goes up beyond a certain amount the insurace company will want it checkd to see if the brakes and whatnot are upto the job to stop iyt!!! you may require a vic o some kind of test to satisfy the insurer!!! thats why most dont tell the insurance company but your not insured if you dont!!!dont quote me on this but i heard it was a 75 bhp increase but i cnt confirm???? best call dvla!!!

i know the insurance companies require an engineers report if the power goes up a certain ammount, this isnt a problem for me tbh its the paperwork side of it with the log book etc. to keep it all legal thats my issue. expesially as im doing all the work myself

  inferno 182.
ok! from what you said and you want to stay legal you can get a report on the car where they check kit car builds before they can be moted!!! thats the report!!!if it fails you will get a list of what is needed!!! going on your engine swap im sure you could upgrade your brakes along with the engine!!if you can get the engine in you can get the running gear in!!!! may need to fabricate brackets, turretts????you may need the running gear anyway because of the drive shafts???
good luck!!!!!
im sticking to m 182 and bolt on parts!!!

lol the car is having cup racer suspension and 300mm brembo 4 pot brakes (better than the standard 280mm) so im not worried about the report lol the car should be up to the power im putting through it.

its just the paperwork side of the conversion that is a likley hurdle, as it will be for this guy

I shouldnt have a problem with getting recites from an approved garage saying they have done the work.

my friend who will be doing most the work on the car works as an MOT tester for a Renault specialist garage so with a bit of luck recites will be enclosed along with MOT as he has done the work him self.

obversely its going to be more difficult then said above but im sure this can be processed quickly and legally.

ANYWAY last night I whent up to dynodaze to do a before and after readout for when the conversion is complete these are my results.

Decat and home made cold air feed.
(80.3 bhp) (107nm tourque) not bad i didnt think.
