what would you do?

with my new ktex exhaust (the magnex one i believe) it seems near impossible to get a good seal between it and the cat. i can feel gases puffing out against my hand on idle - and when i hoof it, it sounds just a bit gash :S

windows down it sounds hissy and pants.

tire/exhaust garage tried sealing it but to no joys.

ive got a decat pipe i could fit which looking at it would fit tightly and much improve the problem - but im holding back for insurance reasons! i guess its the idea of being left with a massive loan if it all goes tits up one day lol.

what should i do peeps?

You have the magnes Version iirc, I had this Problem for ages but mine already had a Decat Fitted, Mine is now sorted but it Involved a a very Skilled Guy Custom making a Part, Mine now sits so much better and also has stopped all Blowing from that Area

ah right. mine does sit a bit funny but not too bad, its more that stupid noise from the cat which is the problem.
so was it blowing even with the decat on? what part did you need to have made to stop it?

Mine was blowing alot from the Cat to Cat-Back Join, I had a GDi Decat on with my Std Exhaust and had no problems at all, I'll try and get a Picture of how it looks now as it'll be easier then describing, Give me a few minutes

Ive got the same problem with a ktec sport cat - ktec stainless centre section, the flanges between the two is poor. Im just gunna get the cat and centre section welded together as one part, fed up of trying to stop it blowing.

Funny you should say that
Pic in a Minute or Two, I warn you it ain't a pretty weld but it works and it is a TIG Weld which I'm pretty sure is good

Here we go, I think it sleeves Nicely under the Clamp but not been under there to look properly, Guy said refitting Std Cat would be easy so I'm happy

nice one cheers bud - i think im due a trip to a proper garage to get it sorted once and for all! ill get on the blower to GDI - its near me and they might know what to do!

unless anyone has a none welding solution lol???

Why not take it to K-Tec? Most garages will bend over backwards to iron out any problems. The chap from K-Tec seems very reasonable when he has posted on here in the past.
