What would you pay for this car, and would you buy it?

Its at my local garage, 'apparently' on 27k. However the steering wheel and mats would say otherwise, not a scrap of alacantra left on it and even has holes in it. The mat has a hole in it which looks like its been worn in over time. However the interior looks pretty mint, no obvious wear on drivers seat, and bodywork is spot on. Thing that worrys me is the 17's and the fact it has saxo vts badges on it and a bmw 'm power' badge. Sounded a bit lumpy on tick over as well. Is it worth a punt? What are the chances of it being a ringer? And more importantly whats it worth? (flame red ph1) one at the top

hmmmm its just this one was literally so close. Really want paul_h172s but its just a case of sealing a deal before i go on holiday, and i dont think hes on here that much, so need to look else where just in case.

also the blokes at the dealership are all c***s.

Have a look at the service history, if your seriously considering the car, phone up the renault garage where it got serviced and ask to see what the mileage was when it was taken in.

I have to agree that the vts badge and an m power badge dont sound too promising ie why would you put them on a clio!. You taken it for a long drive, or just a drive round the block?

The 17's arent too bad( ive got some on mine lol).It looks tidy and you say the interior is pretty mint but i definatley wouldnt pay 6k for it!. Probably more around 4.5k

but what milage is his on? and dont want a ph2 :)

agree with the muppet comment lmao

i want to but dont think hes on here much and need to seal a deal asap. if he accepts the offer i've given him i'll defo be having that.

lol i prob could, just fancy a ph1. As for craigs its undoubtably a nice car but paul_h's has a similar spec (not quite as much however) for quite a bit less on 45k (not knocking his sale as craigs is also worth every penny) also cant afford 6k unless it was from a garage so i could have hire purchase (obviously wouldnt be paying 6k for it either lol)

to be honest it would literally be a last result if they gave it me for a mint price. I think youve all confirmed my thoughts and feelings though :)

M

mini-valver

DONT!! buy one with FULL renault dealershoip content! still beat you round bends though...... hehe

two words, barge pole

you can get a mint phs 1 for £5K top whack, mileage isn't important IMO

the cleanest one i know of is Darren555's on here, followed closely by Fubar's and Clarts

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
ph is short for Phase, when the car is only slightly redesigened it changes phase, whith a total re design is changes mark,

The car that Middo is looking at is a Mark 2 Phase 1, your car is a Mark 2 Phase 3 , because of the different front lights and twin exhaust.. and extra 10hp

  Chocolate Bar™
your local then? what colour is it as ive seen a flame red ph2 for sale but really want a ph1. but im starting to worry as i cant afford the car i want, and not getting much of a response from the other car i want lol.

so looks like i may be buying a 100quid shed to get me round :(

phs1 is the best one ever made, thats all you need to know

How can that be. I drove e-ray172, ph1 and the steering feels much less responsive compared to my 182 w/cup sus. Its like the initial turn in is not even there. Much prefer the cable throttle though.

Cuuld be a worn stearing rack/setup etc.
I'd always prefere a phase 1 excpet for there older age weeker shell (however small) lower NCAP rating externally and internally looks I perfere the phase2's
