is ur K&N clean ? u should wash it then put some K&N oil on it to keep it in good order ! sometimes IKs can be restrictive rather than power gainers ! Its just a nice noise it makes !
Weather like this you need an enclosed airbox. But in winter a well fed and fairly well enclosed induction kit should be better. But apparantly HP is the only decent one, if you dont count the viper.
ive only put a larger feed into the air box and one joining in form that from the lower front bumper.
shes like a new car, we were cruising last night down the m1 at 95 on a flat ill say too, nearer home she went up to 115-120 on the clock and then i thought i1d better slow down.
im confused
but shes running really well, she must be in a good mood.
Dont know what the airbox is like on a 1.2 but on my 16v i took the HP kit off in favour of the airbox and its far better, the HP kit does sound the nuts but loses loads of power (the valvers get bloody hot under the lid)
I cut a 3 inch ole into the airbox an ran 3 inch plastic pipe down to the wheelarch, basically i have it plugged in so its a sealed airbox with a extra feed but take it out when i want it to sound nice.... bit blue peter but it works.
Its cos the airbox sits on top of the engine, hot air rises, no where for it to go, all gets sucked into the unsheilded K&N. Standard airboxes with performance elements are best for Clios, espeically the mk1 1.2/1.4/1.8(rt) cos the filter sits on top of the engine. Well thought out that Renault!!!!
