Poppycock! Everyone knows the Trophy is the fastest car on the planet! I saw a Veryon at GFOS on Saturday and I thought "Yeh yeh, 8 litre W16, four turbochargers, over 1000bhp but it's so heavy", I knew then that the Trophy would have it in the twisties. As for cheap mass produced Full Fats, cups and 255 V6's, they're all Trophy fodder, everyone knows the remote resevoir dampers on my car mean that it will still be cornering hard after even the AUDI R9's have retired from LeMans. And the red paint alone reduces the Cd by three or four points.

There is so little difference in all 6 variants, its all down to whether you make the most of the car.

On the back straight at Goodwood I eased off to let the Trophy pull away, then put my foot down again and reeled him back in. That's not down to the driver now is it? That's down to power/weight. We were running very similar mods too.

Are we talking paper drag figures? Its a known fact that the 172Cup/182Cup/182Trophy return identical figures to 60 & 100, with the 182FF being 'slightly' slower to 100 and the 172 trailing further still. It might be more nimble than a 182Cup, but I cant see one outhandling a Trophy. I've only driven a 182Cup though so I dont know. As always in these debates, we are talking nano seconds between them all anyway.
