whats mods with £100 - £150?

  G51 BEN
im budgeting myself with about 100-150 to do something nice with the car this month.
quite a basic dynamique. only mods are:

silver bullets
painted calipers
rear splitter
RS grill
painted diamond

so what can i do with the moneys?
something that hopefully wont affect my insurance either thanks.

thinking of maybe colour coding the bumpers
POSSIBLY lower it depending on if it affects my insurance.. im with admiral so ive no idea.

you will probably all just say "save up for a 1*2" but im getting one in a year or so.

ideas welcome... pics welcome also. cheeers guys

yeah i know. its between them two....

the issues i have with them are:
lowering i would need the full coilovers which can be expensive, ive been advised not to buy 40mm springs and use them on my original shocks for some reason.

and colour coding - i work 6 days a week and use my car on my day off so would need to find some extra time to get it painted. also - would i need to remove bumpers etc? or would they just mask it off and spray it on my car?

It's ball all this "don't lower on standard shocks" pish. Get yourself some 60MM Apex springs, I've had mine on standard shocks for months and had 40s on before that and I've had no problems. Anything lower than 60mm on a non-rs IS a waste of time/money.

The bump strips are all clipped on so just take some time to get them off.

Colour coding shouldn't affect your insurance either and if done properly looks fairly OEM.

Lowering will affectthe insurance though as it affects performance/handling.

My colourcoding cost me £120 all round lol and it was well worth it. But now I want it lowering, do one and you will probably want the other. Nothing wrong with a subtle drop on Eibach's, they've been proven to work well with the standard dampers

yeah my mate works at a bodyshop. quoted £20-£30 for side strips. gonna get the rest done as well.
lowering will make my insurance too much im thinking

What I did to my 1.4 ! Probably cost me around £70 + time and effort as I did it myself but it looks OEM! Was going to lower it but tbh I didn't feel the need to do it!!

VeinAST - how do these bumpers come off, is it simple to get them off? Where did you buy the spray paint, was it a good match? and finally, How long did it take you from start to finish?
Cheers mate

Good work that Vein. My car with near identical mods...

Ben if you've got a mate that can do it, thats ideal mine was so cheap due to knowing the sprayer well

I took the bumpstrips off, they all unclip! Only things I didnt do were door handles, spoiler and rear black strip.

The paint was direct from Renault, pricey but at least I knew it'd be 100% correct!

Sanding down the orange peel was the most time consuming thing, the longer of the door strips took me 3ish hours to make completely smooth!

The front's took me about a week in total but I was only just in a new job and had alot of spare time on my hands

yeah i think colour coding looks great. i love it in blue!
i see a few silver colour coded ones around.. arent they the 'extreme' spec?

and yes modifying a 1.2, 1.4 maybe a serious waste of money to you, but, like yourself i want to enjoy what i drive.
and i feel that modifying it... even though slightly and sublty is how i am going to enjoy my car more.
but cheers for the input and comments guys. more pics too :)
