Whats the next step (modding my hybrid)

Got a spare bit of money for my car and really dont know what to do next? All i can think of is cams and followers + headwork but tbh i dont really want to do this yet. Thats my plan for later in the year. ;) What else can i do? After performance really....

Spec so far is:

2.0l 16v
Hillpower Chip
ITG filter with modded airbox
Ansa Exhaust with no middle boxes
Suspersprint Manifold
Group N Clutch
Magnicore Leads
Low temp thermostat and fan switch

285mm Big Brake Kit up front
Drilled and grooved rear disks

Lowered 40mil (ish) on Boge Shocks and Springs

Slightly Stripped with no spare and no back seats ect. (Buckets + harnesses coming at the end of the month)

Bodywork is all mint other than maybe a wheel refurb?!

  Mk1 16v

anthracite turinis? bit of colour coding?

sounds sweet as it is mate and looks spot on!

Daz id probs get BenR to do the cams ect

Riche, cant really be bothered with colour coding. Imo it looks fine as it is really. As for getting the wheels done in anthracite...im not sure it would suit.

What do lightned flywheels, ect do?

PAS is staying im afraid.

Willy track. Thats one i forgot about! Tbh though i think the car handles pretty spot on anyways and not sure if its worth the small gain for all the money...

Lightening/balancing the flywheel should make it more responsive due to less rotational inertia/increased efficiency. Expensive tho mate as its an engine out job iirc....imo willy track that bad boy :) PS. dont bother with refurbing the rims, looks sweet as is.

Oh it is! :) More than a small gain...

Cheers Gary! I quite like the wheels silver too.

So u33db you would say it was a big improvement over a well set up valver? Ive seen vids of 2.0l valvers stuck to willys on the track through corners?

If ive learnt anything its to spend as much as you can on suspension....I dont know alot about the willy conversion but i reakon itll be worth it! Fancy some cheap leda suspension? lol

Cheap...as in only £900!! lol! You offer the rt crew free suspension....why not me?! hehe

Thinking about it though some of the parts needed for the willy track conv are from r19s and my mate has a dead one on his drive. **Gives matey a txt** Might also ask my mechanic mate if he can do it on the side....

the difference is pretty huge, even an average or novice driver would be able to tell the difference and exploit it imo. my mate drove mine the other day again and he wants a Willy track for his...

I found the difference between the valver and Willy set up quite big on my 2 cars.Depends wot your after though tom. It must be quick enough allready for the road?! If you want it really quick, your guna have to strip it out,but for me that would ruin the car!

Speaking as someones who fire new setups of 1.8 and williams setups i have to say there is a massive difference...honestly.

Its far more stable, gives far more grip...you go faster, safer basically. When i had mine done i found i was driving at least +10mph faster round some of my on the edge corners...and that wasnt even pushing it to the max...quite unbelievable IMO.

Williams setup as standard is as good as any (coilovered or otherwise) 1.8 setup as it the car will still go as quick yet wont be a compromise to road use. Modifing the 1.8 suspension will always loose out in some area...

iv gone from a 16v to williams track, and altho the lack of power steering is still taking some getting used to, it does feel very good on the corners, especially high speed sweeping ones, feels much more stable!

Hmm think this is the next step then folks. Just got to get my act together to sort the parts.... Theres a list somewhere isnt there on what i need?
