wheel bearings

Guys,
I need an estimate! How much is it likely to cost to have one front wheel bearing replaced on a Mk1 RT? (or do they both need doing together?)

Its just when I turn the steering to the right at a junction and accelerate, there is a grinding sound coming from somewhere in front. It is possible to hold the left-hand roadwheel and shake it side to side (not by much, but more than the righthand wheel). My dad reckons this is a failing wheel bearing and the noise is caused by crap getting into the....gap??

so anyway, does the actual bearing cost much or is it all going to be labour costs?

Will cost around £60 to have done at a reasonable place.

Im having a back one done on my 16v tomorrow for £55.

yeah the fronts are most expensive. I got some quotes for the front when i had the rear done, the average rate was about £70. Thats an average from about 4 different places.

PS make sure theyve got a good press as the 10 tonne ones might not manage it.
