Wheels spacers - How far to go?

I bought a set of 17 inch Superleggeras with an offset of 42 for my 172 ph1.

Just pushed them out with 5mm eibach spacers and longer bolts, it's made a real difference with an extra 10mm track so much that I'm tempeted to go for 10mm each side. I looks like there's space, anyone else done this?

I believe that the longer the bolts the more risky it is....its had been doen before (perhaps not on a clio) but ive read comments on here thats its not very safe!!

I have seen cars with 60mm Spacers each side and they have been driven for about a year

But yer, in principle it will put more pressure on the Bearings etc but 5mm each side shouldnt damage!
