which amp

Im loooking to buy a new amp to power my two kicker solarbaric 10 inch subs.cant decide between the rockford fosgate 1001bd (being discontinued) or the directed 1100 d (being discontinued) / 1500d. Any one got eiher of these or can reccomend which one i should choose?

Which voicecoil configuration are your subs? e.g. dual 4 or 2 ohm?

I ask that because the 1100d produces highest power at 1ohm (unless sync bridged) and the Rockford at 2ohm. I use a couple of Rockford bd500.1s at 1ohm and they never cut out. The 1001bd is a bit trickier to make stable when ran under impedance without modifications.

Both are great amps and now the Rockfords are on special offer I would say go for one of those...depending on voicecoils obviously.

is they are old shape Solobarics or Square ones? If theyre square then you will need the 1100d or risk the 1001bd and make sure you have a second or uprated battery and 2 gauge power cable. That would be a 1ohm load.

If theyre the old single coil round subs then you will be better off with the 1001bd as it will show the amp a 2ohm load.
