Which Gold 17s on Williams/

C

Clio_Williams

Please can somebody leave some pictures of a Williams with Gold 17s on here, ive been looking around and there doesnt seem to be many on the market,im going to get some in the next few weeks to put straight on to my williams when i find a good one,i also need to see if they look ok when on without the need to lower the car as i dont want any rubbing or to have to take the wheel lining out/ roll the arches etc,

Thanks for any help,

Robert.

will look too high if u dont lower it mate, and reason u wont see many is cos most people leave the williams as standard!

Is that a body shop you work in or just a place that mixes paint? Excuse my ignorance

Ok thanks for the replys,i was looking at Speedline wheels on Demon Tweeks website last night but could only find gold on 16s,Carnoisseur didint have any in Gold,

Are the wheels above Imolas and how much can i lower by ? which kit is best to use without having to do arch mods,i presume just putting -25mm spax springs onto standard Williams suspension would be a bad idea?,do they make a Koni suspension for the Williams as all my previous cars have had these and i find them to be very good,

Thanks for the replys,

Robert.

SLs in gold only come in subaru fitment. Which is why Im gonna go for Speedline Turinis in gold but only 16" as dont want to ruin the handling.

Not for a while though as got freash 15" rubber to get through.

im sure if you spoke to someone at OZ they could just finish some 4 studs in that race gold.

Yeah i think those might be the ones for me i like them,i dont want to do much to the williams when i get one because they werent intended to be modified but im just going to go for the 17s and possibly 50mm hoop chrome roll cage,What do you guys think about twin headlights on the Williams?Ive had them fitted to my previous cars,Astra GSi,Corsa 2.0 and Fiesta RST but im unsure as to whether they look right on a Williams...ii definately wouldnt do anything else bodywise though.

  An old banger!

twin headlamps look quality check Rajs old willy!!!

As for changing the wheels i have 16" speedlines on my willy and it makes the car look even better!!!

WHAT?

Why oh why do you want to put 17 inch wheels on a Williams and ruin the looks, the hanlding and the speed? Dont you think the standard wheels look good enough? One of the defining points about owning a Williams is those gold alloys. Changing them goes beyond ruining the handling and takes away one of the principle marks of the Williams.

And thats only your opinion stromba. personally i think it would look a lot better on 17s but then thats my opinion. OK i agree the handling and speed will be affected but not everyone buys a car like this for the same reasons you do. Some people but it because they like the looks of the car and can say they have a williams and might fancy a clio with a 2.0 litre engine

I personally cant see the point of paying extra money for a Williams which is going to end up looking like a Valver. Why not just save a load of cash and buy a Valver? Please reconsider the 17s, I assure you it will handle awefully and will be VERY slow. Plus people will think you are driving a badged up Valver.

Personally I wouldnt put 17s on a Williams, I bought my car because it has very good handling and performance. I am not totally against modifying a Willams like some people, but I only do mods that improve performance / handling. Would look good lowered but to me thats not what the Williams is about.

Rob, its all down to personal taste, at the end of the day he has to drive the car, i agree with you in the sense that the gold speedlines are part of the williams look, but different strokes for different folks!

he can always take them off !!!

and return it to standard, its not like hes doing something drastic to it !

Get some pics up as soon as you have made your own decision and let us know what you think of your car.

Here Here mate. I personally wouldnt change the looks, unless its the Dimma kit, but im in dream land there.

Putting 17s on the Willy might change its performance and handling, but you can always change it back.

I always liked the https://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/BK238SUBARU_G_18.jpg">BK 238 s in gold, but I wanted them in 15s, and they only come in Gold on 17s, and the stud fitment is for scoobys only

The only option was by the 15s and paint them - waste of dollar really.

 Well if your going to put 17s on buy a Williams 2 or 3 then. Dont ruin an original. Pleeeeease.
Eh, a Williams 3 is just as rare yours Rob. If not more so - as most Williams being scrapped/broken are 3s. Carnt be many left out of the 3-400 that came here !

They are all still williams - just not numbered like yours pal.
I wouldnt do it but hey - if he keeps the originals wheels ?

mixed opinions here..i definately agree it will slow the car down and effect handling, but in my opinion it will look better and the 15s will only be in the garage for when i want to swap them back..does anybody know for sure if the Superleggaras are available in Renault fitment 4 stud?

I would spend the money on the engine I think lowered a little onto 15s Williams looks nice, plus 17s kill performance. Just my opinion, each to their own I suppose.

The Prima Williams wheels look nice in 17s, I would go for them if I had to have 17s I just dont think a Williams looks right on aftermarket wheels.
