Which steering wheel

Want a decent steering wheel (as the original one is way to big and has no grip really) (ok its to catch some big juicy slides ;o)) to go with my Eibach and Konis.

Which one?
Would you have a dish one or flat? Which one is better for fast trackj use?
What size? (ranges from 270mm to 350mm)
Leather, suede or a combination
What colour in a silver 172?
Would use get a snap off kit?

Go for a dished OMP. It suits track driving better because you dont wan your elbows to go straight at any point and the natural clio driving posision does this. You want your legs to have a slight kink at the knee when the pedals are pushed fully down, and you want your arms bent with the wheel near to you.

Suede, its far more confortable, doesnt get hot, no sweat slip, only problem is that it looses its knap after a while so you HAVE TO drive with suede palmed driving gloves.

Colour is your choice.

I have a snap off kit if you want, but i think you will need ot buy an adaptor.

THe corsica or WRC would be my choice.

Flat wheels just stretch your arms too much at 12 oclock.

OMP offer generally the same stuff as Sparco just cheaper. Although theyre both proper motorsport firms, IMHO a street car built to look like a racer would be full of Sparco, a race car fettled to make it road legal would be full of OMP. Ive used bits of both brands and theyre both Italian, both take ages to deliver if the parts not in stock, and both are roughly the same quality. The only difference seems to be in price and different styles of equipment.
