Which wet and dry paper??

  bmw e92 330d '09
hi there everyone,

im going to be spraying my Renault badges next week and i have a good idea what im doing but the only thing im unusre of is what "grit" wet and dry paper to use for sanding down inbetween the primer coats before the final coloured paint is applied....

there are numbers before such as "120 grit".... "240 grit"....
"400 grit".

does anybody know or doesn't it make much difference or what??

many thanks.

jamesy :D

You don't need to sand in between the coats of primer, just sand it once you've applied all the coats of primer.
800 grit wet is what I use to sand Aerosol primer.

make sure you scotch it up mate! ie with a brillo pad or something to allow the primer to stick..
also use 1200 grit wet!

they both do the same thing.. Ideally your looking to achive a dull surface for the primer to adhere to, so wet scothching wil do the job well on badges as it can get in all the tight places. all you want to do is take the shine off.
