Well I think this project sounds quite interesting and being a white Clio makes it sound even more different. (I haven't seen many in white anyway).

Hows it going though and how much work has been done so far?

The thing with this website is there are some real c***s - a couple have posted on this topic. All there interested in is track days and upgraded discs and pads and coilovers because thats all they know. Ask them to do something like an engine conversion or answer a technical question and they dont know there f**king head from there arse.

well thats restored my confidence in this site, ive heared a lot about u matt black, ur highly respected on here mind!! thanks for the pm it helped a lot, i printed it out and showed my mechanic and he agrees but we have got the 182 brain, uch and correct key so we are going to try and sort out correcting the brains faults, another thing i wanted to ask is can we program the brain to forget it ever had abs? when we turn the key, a stop light comes on the dash and another red 1 which im not sure about, but when we connected the fly by wire accelerator it is adjusting the throttle innlet, so thats got 2 b good news if its reading the throttle?

If nothing happens at all i bet you its the UCH thats at fault

Have you checked the plip key to make sure the plip is emmiting a radio frequency ?

I think its the UCH personally - when a clio has been in a bump these usually bugger up and you have to replace them. Most conversions involve problems with the UCH - there hard work

no it wont even go and kick nor try and fire, its just nothing, but surely the throttle wouldnt work if there was a problem with the uch? ill find out off my mate what the other light is on on the dash cos im not with the car at the moment, and no i havnt checked the plip on the key, how do?

Its the UCH playing up - if you go to turn the key and theres nothing at all its the UCH - have you got access to a "clip" renault diagnostic computer ? this will confirm the problem and check through all the sensors and terminals to make sure everything is ok.

Out of interest whats the engine number - it will start F4R *** and then directly underneath that there will be a 7 digit number starting with a letter and 6 numbers following it. If you can get me these numbers i might be able to trace the ID of the donor car and get you your immobiliser codes !!

are you planning to colour code the side strips? I couldnt see much in the previous pics so maybe they are just in there temporarily. I like white cars and I think this will look great at the end. Whats the plan for interior? Keeping the original, upgrading to 1*2 style or stripping etc?

yeah down where i live the stickers do a lot of good advertising, and the red on the car is in ambulance reflective, so when i have a spin around you see a lot of people slam on the anchors cos all they see is a white car with glowing stickers, thinkin its the cops, pmsl all the time, but yeah unfortunetly ive got to have them on 2 support the shop, it used to look nice without them but ive grown 2 like them, i dont think they are ott too much
