who has gone from a 182 to an r27

i recently posted about going from 182 to an r26. thanks for the replies. was wondering what r27 owners think of their cars...especially those who have gone from 182. Is there much of a noticable difference in performance / handling??? Renault have offered 40% deposit and 4yrs 0% on an r27. is it a disappointing swap???

I've gone from a Trophy and FF182 to an R27... only done a couple of hundred miles but so far enjoying it... was planning on getting a few more miles under it's belt before starting to consider making any comparisons though.

but to be fair, it feels very planted handling wise, shorter gear ratios mean you're always changing gear though! I can't complain about it yet tbh

Like Iain said, I'm sure Alan will be along in a minute to let you know how he's getting on with his R27.

yeah, the r27 is the Renault Clio Renaultsport F1 r27 (to give it its full name), while the r26 is the Renault Megane Renaultsport F1 R26.
Apparently, the r26 is the car to have in hot hatch stakes at the moment (tempted, but I like the small nimblness of the Clio), and the r27, although early days is meant to be on par with, if not better than the r26. Talking with a guy at my local Renault garage, he seems to think that there is enough room inbetween the bulkhead on the r27 for a turbo... a turbo R27? Where do I sign up...?

Oh, and the Liquid Yellow is only availble on the R27, but it's not the only colour you can have it in. Have you seen the white it's coming out in later this year? I WANT ONE!!!

that's actually pretty encouraging to hear. i took a 197 out for a short test drive and wasn't particularly taken with it. i think the r26 might be just out of budget for me and am keen to change. there's nothing else that really takes my fancy except the r26/27. i would not want to change to something that would be disappointing compared to my 182...hence the question is it a disappointing swap from the 182 to the r27. so..to go from a trophy / ff182 to a r27 and be pleased with it seems like a good thing then?!?!

the engine in the R27 is great once you've run it in... though sometimes between 1-2k rpm it seems like there isn't anything there almost as if it has turbo lag!

Biggest difference abt it to the 182 is that it seems to generate a lot more grip. The 182 is bit more playful at the limit but the R27 seems to just grip and grip and....

Just imagine your 182 with 3 passengers, get the picture;)

Awaiting all faults to be rectified before i look.

Good car, but too much weight.

So true - it's as rough as sh*t when cold below 2.5k and gutless below there when warm.

The R27 isn't as 'raw' as say the Trophy... yes its more refined I guess which i quite liked... as said it seems to grip and grip and grip, and you've also lost the torque steer feel too

The R26 is a bit more raw though, and with the turbo and LSD is also a great handling car... all depends what you want really...
