i put 4 nice chrome caps on last saturday...they were gone by the tuesday night. its not the fact that the caps were stolen, rather that some wee tosser was poking around the car!

cant see how? its to stop dust/road shite getting into the valve area, doesnt do anything for the air in the tyre, thats the valves job

I'm sure I've read on here about it. Somebody went to a tyre place or sumthink or nuthink because their tyres were going flat. The guy asked them if they had metal dust caps, they said yes, and he told them to replace them with plastic ones. I'm sure there was a reason too, but I forget.

A couple of years ago, i drove to work on an industrial estate, parked up at 8.30, stuck my new shiny metal dust caps on, went down to the local bakery in the work van on the bun run, came back 14 MINUTES later and they were gone! bugger! Just use the black plastic ones now...

Get yourself a set of lockable chrome caps from Halfrauds. My original set of valve caps were stolen within 24 hours of getting my car. These have so far lasted 5 months. Without the key, they just keep unscrewing but never come off.

Kids steal them for their bloody push-bikes ffs.

you can get some cool looking anti theft ones. i know richbrook make some i think they are like a 10a or summit. they also come in a variety of colours. come to think of it you can get them in near enough the colour of most clios lol
