Why does everything go wrong all at once?

1: Tapping sound from the engine (think i might be the cams and followers)

2: Rattling sound from the engine when in gear (no idea sound like something vibrating agianst the engine)

3: Hit a bump vavine(deep hole) in the road and now every time i turn left i get a grinding sound (sound plasticy)

Does anyone know of a good renault mechanic in the hamshire/Isle of Wight area which isnt going to pull my pants down grease me up and aim for penatation over the price of repairs?

On the plus side tho my Stereo works okay so i can just turn the volume up and hope they go away

forgot to add does anyone have any clue to what these problems might be?

1 is the hydraulic tappets they may need replacing

2 Run the car with the bonnet open and get someone to rev it, then look where its coming from (maybe engine mounts)

3 Check the plastic sump guard under the car and the arch liners !! if these have come loose they could be rubbing on the tyre !!

No how your feeling ive just spent shed loads of dollar on my car sucks ass hoping this will soon be the end of of it as everything has been done fingers crossed

Tapping noise, Mine was due to the oil i used *Not right viscosity* Check and make sure. I changed oil and only happens on real cold mornings untill engine is warm. Thats what i do crank up the tunes and the problems go away. You also dont get to hear your engine droping on to the street

The tapping noise may well be your tappets but that isnt major - the noise when you turn is probably your arch liners and as for the tapping noise when in gear - well i have EXACTLY thesame problem and i believe its the gear box mount - apparently its not too hard to fix and ill be doing it this wkend - i may put a post of how to do it if it helps - it seems to happen a lot on valvers - more so when idling in my car coz ive lef tthe problem for so long but as i build the revs up it goes away slightly -- still not fixed though!!!!! I know what you mean about things going all at once!

just had all the mounts changed in the engine bay (never thought rubber could be so expensive)
