why is no one buying a 182 anymore

  182
whats going on there are more than 5 decent 182 s on sale on cs and everyone is struggling to shift them ??

i mean 7,100 for a 54 plate with only 33,000 miles its a f**king steal so come on all u 1.2 owners get down the bank and buy these 182 's

mines 7,500 if u want it and ill gives u a pair of arsenal tickets to see the yids

  Leon Cupra R 225
hmm.... how about you provide the money to buy one of them...

did you not think that also people might want something else...

  182
sorry to rock ur boat there mate just seems with the 197 not being up to scratch u would think a 182 would be able to sell

have u drove a 182 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  Clio DCi 65

Market seems a bit stale at the moment it seems.

Also its not helped by the amount of low milage 172s going for as low as £3500.

When i decided to get another RS i looked at 182's etc but then as it was going to be a second car for me (same as a few others on here) i didnt see the point in spending 8k on a car when 4k would get me basically the same car, albeit a few years older

All you can do mate is wait, either that or sell it back to the dealer and lose a few quid

It amases me how people advertise a car & within hours drop the price again & again.
A buyer usually has to sell a car first of all then find another one, the run up to Xmas is always slow.

Best time to buy & sell is spring to the end of summer.

172's & 182's always sell well, as on the whole are quite rare, just takes time.

Yeah I think you would continue to have trouble shifting them until they come down to £5k or so.

I have the option of buying mine outright or handing it back in just under a year and am not sure. I only have 11k on the clock so seems sensible to keep the thing but then it is french and if it turns unreliable I don't want a liability on my hands that I can't get rid of.

Now that is me thinking that when it is £6k for me to keep the car and it will have about 16k on the clock by then and I know it has been looked after and driven well.

I can see why people are nervous about shelling out £7k to a stranger on a 30k mile car with no warranty, poor reliability record, terrible dealer support and it being the type of car that is abused. If it was a 1.6 Golf people would take the risk....

Hmm I may keep mine as for the same money all I'd get new is a 1.0 Aygo but I wouldn't buy my car off a stranger, its just that I know its a good example.

i have to diagree the handling on a 182 is better, so are the looks, so is the kit level, so is the image, so is the power (albeit a small ammount).

  182
toy pop not all 182s are ragged hmmmmmmmm

i here what u lot are saying, just think the 182 is a lovely car and if i didnt have too sell then i wouldnt , but when ur misses walks out and u have to find 15,000 to keep a flat u bought for 250k some times things get desperate i meant ive paid her 10k now all i need is 5 more to get her out of my life so hence the reason of selling my baby

  Vectra :(
That maybe true but the amount of people on here that change all of the above negates the need for most of it. In my case anyway. On the road there isnt a world of difference between a 172/182

Plus the ph1 172 is arguably the better drivers car. ;) looks are subject to opinion also

IMO as a second car, for fun, track days etc its very hard to jusify an extra 4-5k for something that is the same pace on a track. Especially if you are planning to change the suspension etc

  182
having owned a 172 cup and now a 182 ff i woulf never take my cup back if anything thou the 172 cup looked the best

Golfs are not what they used to be, my mrs had loads of faults with hers.
Hence she now drives a scenic, far better car.

Buy an Aygo then, but that would be a big mistake on your part.
Buying private is where it's at for bargains, just get info'd up & have some fun.

Prices are always going to drop big time when a new model comes out, especially when its a specialist model like the 182 - 197 face off is. Think most people must think at £7k they may as well save up the rest and get a brand new newer model.

I personally would never spend £7k on a second hand french car, but thats a totally personal opinion.

  Turbos.
Agree with Steve, f**king funny when people lower their price after 5 mins. It's always worth shelling out on Autotrader.

I can't imagine many people will be thinking about getting a new car at this time of the year.

  182
If it didn't cost me over 2k to insure 1 id consider buying 1. The reliability can put some people off too.

I'd buy one if insurance road fund/insurance/fuel/tyres/brakes weren't so expensive.

Also speed limits were abolised as I'm bad enough with what i have now.

Perhaps it's because most of the people on Cliosport who are old enough or can afford one... already have one?

Very limited market IMO.

If I was selling I'd advertise mine everywhere but on here.

Think you've hit the nail on the head there. Mine will be on the market soon (might wait til after xmas though), but I'll certainly be advertising everywhere else.

Definitely worth holding on, rather than dropping the price, if you can.

  Astra 1.8 SRi
As soon as I can shift my Astra 1.8Sri then I would buy a 182, but needs to be right car cos I ain't driven one yet and don't know whether to get a normal 182 or Cup version or wot colour...can't wait to get one tho.

  soon: 172 Cup
Agreed with the time of year and all.

I am looking to sell my car and get a loan out, but STILL undecided on what car i want.

Mainly been looking at 172/182's (Would love a Racing Blue 182 with cup packs if the money is right at the time!) Ibiza Cupra's, Polo GTi's etc etc etc!

I am unsure what i want but i think once i have money sitting in my pocket (when i sell my car + get the loan) thats when crunch time will be!

Anyone got a nice racing blue 182 for sale at a reasonable price??? :D

I do think a lot of people start thinking of the expense of Christmas and stuff, so buying a car tends to go out the window. However, I sold my Punto GTT at this time of year through Auto Trader. It was quiet for about 4-5 days then I got bombarded with calls!

At the end of the day, the 182 is still a desirable car and you will have interest in it, regardless of what time of year you choose to sell it.

Sell your 182's in December folks! I'll be prowling then. Could you southern English folk move a bit closer to Scotland for easier viewings please!? ;)

I am looking for a trophy or a 182, but most people are selling have silly ideas of what their cars are worth, 10k for a 182 with 18000 miles...more like £8000! £12k for a trophy with 18000 miles more like £10k...people always very unrealistic, but i'm holding out and i'm sure i'll get what i want.
