ChrisR ClioSport Club Member Dec 23, 2012 #3 5 will give you less interference as more household stuff uses 2.4 as well, it's a less congested frequency band. 2.4 has better range. 5 is not necessarily quicker than 2.4. I think.

I think. Click to expand... I thought 5 was better range (essentially for N rated kit (agn cards)). 2.4 is for the older stuff bg cards.

With signals in general the higher the frequency the shorter the range, or requires more power. Some N kit has stuff like MIMO which helps boost the range, or I think has more power applied to boost it's range.
