Will 17" alloys fit a clio?

  Renault Clio 1.2
I bought a set of 17" inch alloy wheels when i bought then i tried putting them on and drove with them for about 5 mile they seemed fine then i took them off cos i was going to respray them and refurb them myself and learn how to spray paint them. finally i put them back on after respraying and they dont seem to fit. but when i first put them on nothing was wrong with my car, now recently my abs ring has split but car seems to drive okay, i am going to get this fixed but i was wondering if this was causing the wheels not to fit they're multi-stud alloys. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME! thank you :)

17's do fit, but as i learnt the hard way they look sh*te 15's or 16's look nice hence why i sold my 17's and got some 15's
but if you like them thats your choice, thats just what i think

i have 16's and i think they look a lot better. personally i think 17's look too big and i bet you will find they will handle better on 16's anyway.

In what way do they not fit correctly? Too much paint in the centre hub hole not allowing them to sit correctly? but more detail required.

im guessing you mean touching (hotting) as said above though, sell them and buy something a little smaller.

yeah i agree i think they look a wee bit bigger and i was also wondering how much do you think i could lower it by if i did get 15" or 16 " alloys (roughly)

i just went to cooper brothers today and relised that my passenger coil spring was knackered thats the main reason the 17" alloys don't fit i knew there was a reason they didn't fit!
