Williams front shocks question

Car  Clio 172 cup

Can a front shock absorber be faulty (need replacing) even if there is no visable signs of fluid leakage??

Jim

Only if they have failed totally, easy to check just bounce on each side of your car and watch to see if your suspension feels ok and that it settles correctly.

Or the other reason could be that they knock badly or are very very rusty on the spring cup.

Why you asking.....been to Kwik Fit?

they can internally leak/fail which would make them spongy or cause a knocking noise.the top shocker bearings are commen for collasping on old clios.why do you think the shockers gone?

well there is a serious knocking noise coming from somewhere , i have changed the top mounts but it hasnt solved the problem

Ade,

You sure the wishbones are £30?
Thats the price of a 16v one from GSF but the willy ones are £55 from Reno.

Mat.

£30 sounds a bit to cheap for a wishbone.check for play in the balljoint raidarman.a balljoint kit is very cheap and dead easy to change.
