williams on track, with elise 111r

all well and good 2 live, but less picking on slow cars, we wanna see the Willy battering the Skyline ;) pmsl

always impresses me watching this vid

... mate, them brakes were dodgy as f**k... dunno how you could say they were okay! pmsl

way back was fun hehe

the Skyline one deserves it's own thread Jon lad ;)

Great video. Not every day you hear "whats that holding everything up? Is it that Nsx", "Yep" pmsl. Just goes to show power means nothing if you dont know how to use it!

yeah there were some amazing cars being driven pathetically slowly... and I know some of them are super expensive, but they were practically stationary even on the straights... the few that did cain them down the straights usually got passed on corners as they probably left it in 5th the whole way round lol

Shocking, Instead of spending super money on their cars, should spend it on learning how to drive them first. No disrespect to your williams, as it obviously an amazing beast and your obviously very capable of driving it very well, but if you owned that Nsx, and were getting overtaken by something a fraction of its cost, surely you would want to do something about, oh the embarasment. lol.

couldn't agree more! people often argue that people in more expensive cars wont be giving it there all... fair enough, but some of these were just been driven at funeral car pace... so it was nice to see the Skyline, Ultima, CSL and Radical being driven fast.

yeah, I think had I been in the Skyline or NSX I've no doubts I'd be miles faster round there... depending on if I can keep them on the track, but even then...

Why can't you just Do a sneeky bit of late breaking....So f**k, you get warned. I do it all the time at knockhill.

then again it's my home circuit and i know everyone there. lol

Jon's got such a cute voice. PMSL. I'll get him screaming like a ***** around FCS's diddy piss poor excuse for a track

Looking forward to a shot in the willy too.

First of all, great vids and i mean no disrespect to you fella but if you were driving some of the cars that you have overtaken, you'd of spun! In the Skyline vid on some of the corners, specifically at the old hairpin, craner curves and at the right hander leading onto the backstraight you were cutting in far too soon whilst applying power. In a mid engined car especially you would literally of been straight off...

Driving a RWD fast is a lot harder than driving a FWD fast, remember that before slating others.

what makes you think I'd drive a RWD car like a front wheel drive? I know the Williams pretty well and dont rate myself as anything other than average behind the wheel, but I know that I can do what I did in the Williams, yes it could have been better, but i'm not a race car driver.

Had I been in the Skyline or something else that's significantly faster and it was my car (which lets then assume I'd actually know what I was doing in it...) then I would be driving it the way I feel it should be driven... The Clio is a small light car and you can throw them about, I'd never be as stupid to even attempt something like that in a RWD car... but then I'd be braking later in the Skyline and would have more mechanical grip, so I wouldn't need to. In either case I wasn't slating the Skyline or the driver, I was pointing out it was nice to see one being driven with some conviction, and that the Clio may be better suited for that track or I may be a better driver than him... who knows, in any case he moved over and I'm not for one second of the notion that the Clio is faster. It's not.

The NSX I pointed out was being driven like a funeral car, as were the Porsche beasts and if you look carefully you'll see they were going that slow there's no chance in hell of even breaking traction, let alone spinning off, so whilst I see what you are saying it's not really relevant to the vids and it's all based on your assumption of how I'd drive said cars... which, let's be clear is not like a Clio! lol

don't worry fella, all feedback welcome positive or negative, I'm pretty thick skinned (and headed!). I thought me and 2 live did pretty well considering it was both our first times round Donny... well, was my first trackday full stop... probably goes a ways to explaining why I was disappointed with some of the supercars there... even just to see them go on the straights would have been an experience

tbh I thought so too Ali, but I've not spent enough time in one. the main difference between something say like a Williams to an M3 is that you cant chuck the M3 around in the same way (AT ALL!!!! lol), but you dont really need to, it's just got endless amounts of grip... I dont think anyone in their right mind would even attempt to drive a heavier RWD car the same as a lightweight FWD shopper lol

quite surprised EvoNone's not put his 2p's in yet actually... lol

Makes you think in a Kart it's 120Mph down the craner curves and a comfort lift in 6th at the bottom, Still at 100Mph+

AWSUM is the only way to describe it

I personal tthought that skyline was a gti-r in which case it was a 4wd not a rwd, and since when is a skyline mid engined? lol. Obviously you cant handle a skyline and a clio the same way, but none the less if you own a car you should know how to use it properly, which some of those guys with big performance cars cleary didnt. Not a dig at anyone, but just thought if you own a performance car, and have spent loads on it, whats the point of not knowing how to use all that power and performance properly. Might as well not have bothered.

  williams and trophy
lol....my sentiments exactly.

at least the guy in the elise was givin it death...lol

cliobuyer.......do i need to say owt?? lol, again....like jesus...if id have been in a car that handled differently to the clio, i would have driven it in a manner accordingly.

You have to start somewhere don't you? How do you know the guy in the Skyline GTS didn't pick it up last week?

As i said i think the vids are great, keep up the good work. I just think it's silly, and gets egotisitcal when you do Clio Vs XXX when you don't know if the car is driven by a complete newbie.

tbh mate, imo if a car and driver are on track, they prepared to give it death.

fair enuff some take a while longer to get up to speed than others, be it confidence, skill, or just a slow car.

on that day in those cars mentioned, with the drivers of all cars mentioned, the williams comes out on top. which i dont think is unfair to have the 'vs' in the title, as i was following the elise, and gettin severely hampered with my progres by him, and you cant say he wasnt trying lol

and jesus..with the skyline, the guy was cornering pretty well, was leaving us down the straights. now is that the actions of a newbie?? ............errrrrr no i dont think so.

granted on a straighter track the liner would have battered the williams, but they arent exactly reknowned as a straight line car are they lol, but wen it gets to the corners...is where we caught him back up, maybe he wasnt as committed as jesus, maybe he was...until u actually ask the guy driving u will never know. and even then, he might not tell you the truth lol.
