Willsam's Titanium 182's

  Titanium 182
Hello, been a while since i posted on here seeing as i stopped owning a Renault for a year but found my way back. Ill start with when I had my 1.2 Clio, some of you might have seen it on here before.

A lot of effort went from turning that basic expression model 1.2 into how it did, after i had my clio i bought a mk6 fiesta fiesta which i did more or less the same things to as the clio, lowered it way too much, wide wheels, etc. I think it was about 4 months into owning the fiesta i really was never satisfied with it but stuck through with it until my next insurance renewal... and then the time came.

Ideally I wanted an RB but then began to look at inferno's but due to my funds and my fiesta falling to bits it made sense for me to p/x as i had trouble selling my car privately being broken in a few areas, I searched around for a month or so nearby and couldn't find anything decent, everything around where I live seemed to either not been looked after or just a shed. I finally gave in and talked myself into travelling for a better one and my search continued. One morning after my night shift i was getting myself ready to drive 3 hours to swindon to view an Inferno and before I set out I checked eBay one last time and I saw this being advertised. All the way in Porth, even further from my house, this 182, both cup packs with Sat Nav (not that its much use and I still cant work it properly haha), already had a few mods on it such as: Scorpion resonated exhaust with decat (unsure what make), Cooksport springs, 3/4 plate, drilled and grooved discs and some terrible air filter which is being changed as soon as the new one i have bought arrives. I drove down to view it and after a test drive i loved it and didn't want to leave it, unfortunately I had to sort my private plate out on my fiesta a few other things, so i left a deposit and got everything ready to pick it up when i got my log book back with the original plate on the fiesta.

The day came when I was able to pick it up, I couldn't wait to get down and sit on the M6 carpark during the delays when I had to get to porth. On the drive home i couldn't fault it, had no problems, ran smooth, I think I was just happy I was in a Clio again except with power this time. Only downside is that the belts are due this time next year which I am looking to get sorted around new year time and the front end could do a respray but i expect that from a 12 year old car.

Hopefully I will keep this updated and renew my membership soon but thought I'd see how this goes first, cheers for looking.

I was feeling the same. Just bought myself some full Gaz coilovers so it'll now give a nice drop.

I was thinking into some of them myself, only ever had cheap coilovers when it's just been for parking hard in the car park Now I've got to get some decent ones this time round

Got my 3/4 private plate in the post the other day which I've had in the window since I'm stilling waiting for the log book with the standard plates on to arrive! :rage: its taking forever

I gave the car a decent detail the other day when I had the chance, started of washing it down using some really concentrated wash and wax I got from a neighbour for free, came in a huge container for shampoo but it was free so I'm not complaining, then using Autoglym clay bar and rapid detailer I worked on removing most of the crap off the paintwork that I could, followed by Autobrite Magnifoam and then left that to drip for a while, afterwards I washed it over with a fresh mitt and another bucket off the wash and wax that I have. Followed up by G3 paint renovator and then G3 super resin wax. Felt like I was out there forever but came up pretty well, also had the typical 'You can wash mine next' off a few neighbours :unamused:

The results speaks for itself, got a few snaps at work in the middle of the night (I do night time shelf stacking) and a quick snap on the way home, cant stop looking at it any opportunity I get.

Quick beading shot of it this morning before I nipped out. Also sprayed my grill Satin black but didn't get any photos of the process but I'm sure we all know what spraying a grill looks like by now.

Before I set out I thought to myself I have looked if theres anything under the back seats since Ive owned it, I inspected under the seats to find water and crap under the passenger side rear :unamused:

Gave under the seats a clean up whilst I was waiting for my pizza to cook. The other side want too bad so just gave it a quick wipe down and it was all good.

Couldn't stand listening to radio all the time so I bought myself a Kenwood stereo but managed to get a picture after I tidied up underneath the seats. I am missing a thumb grip which I am going to sort eventually it is on my list of things to do.

Still waiting for my induction kit to arrive which is taking forever and bought a non resonated front section for my exhaust today which should arrive tomorrow so I'm looking forward to getting that on, properly get it done at a garage with he weather we're having recently, be quicker getting it on that way, just see how the weather is and if i have a change to put it on myself or not.

I think thats everything up to now of what I can think of... trying to keep this updated as I go.

Yeah I need to get some speakers as the back ones have blown as I found out when I put the stereo in it doesn't like the bass I think I might have some lying around in my garage from my last Clio if I'm lucky. I was also looking for an arctic before I bought this but nothing decent was for sale at the time Oh well, I used silvers not too bad. But appreciate the feedback

Yeah I like black when it's all clean but I've had a black car before and yeah they just attract the dirt Might be a while until I take them off unless I find some reasonable coilovers for sale if I have the money soon but yeah I'll let you know.

So today a couple parcels arrived for me Still no log book

Bought a better induction kit off somebody on csoc, just to do me for now, and non resonated pipe for my scorpion exhaust, sounds much better now, pops a little more which is what I was after.

Old crap air filter

A4E41088-91FF-4164-99EA-5CE2FB733C60_zpseh235smj.jpg

Ramair filter with elbow pipe (not sure what to call it) cable tie technician until I mount it properly.

And then I got to work on the exhaust, removed the front resonated part with the new non resonated pipe, simple enough swap, fit perfect, I'm not stranger to changing exhausts, usually a first mod that has to be done haha.

All bolted up now and took it for a test drive, not much louder like I thought it would be but it is a bit louder and pops so I'm happy enough with it.

So got a small update, had a few things done today and bit over the last week, came in from work one morning and decided I was going to give the seat belt cleaning a try, raided my mums cleaning cupboard and found some stain remover, so I soaked the belts and then scrubbed on some stain remover and washed them off and hung It out to dry, only did the drivers side, still need to get around to the passenger one

No after photos sorry, I'm waiting until they're both done.

Few standard 'I went out for a drive' photos

By this point my log book had finally come, I got online and sorted out swapping it straight over to my private reg, can't believe I had to wait 3 weeks for the log book to arrive and then got the one with the private reg on in 3 days.

I wanted to start having a tinker with the car so I removed the fog lights to see if I liked the idea of it having ducts and not fogs and ran the car without fog lights for a few days.

Also went for the RS-182 skirt vinyl.

A few little goodies arrived his morning, so after I woke up from my night shift I got straight out to fitting them so back off with the front bumper...

Got the carbon washer blanks on and I was having a terrible time fitting my ducts....

B84F2F1D-EEBC-40B5-8D67-40F8EC792CF4_zpsoyrhordj.jpg

I was going to leave them like this but my mate said I had to fit them properly :unamused: so I started hacking away at the fog light surrounds to fit the 100mm ducts.

5EC4F14C-E974-4791-ACD2-482AB994032F_zpstqst0sfn.jpg

They are far from perfect but for £1.72 per duct I'm not complaining.

Also got my battery cover fitted, makes the bay look a little nicer

I've also just booked trax aswell, after only ever going to one car show which was css14 in my 1.2 im not sure what to expect but trying to get this little thing looking presentable.

Any feedback is welcome.

So been a while since I updated anything on this but the car has changed a little bit.
TD 1.2's on AD08R's
Gaz GHA's
Stripper Interior
Corbeau Clubsports
Carbon rear wiper blank
Few other touches that I can't think off the top of my head

Thing I hate most is the plastic wing/metal door colour difference

Few other touches coming soon, glad it's finally getting somewhere with this now.

Few pictures of recent things done, harnessss arrived the other day so got them fitted up, ideally wanted silver but I thought I'll settle on blue as silver had a bit of a waiting list for some reason, got a sunstrip fitted and just been removing bits of the interior for no reason, more lighter more 'racekor' as they say haha

Sorry they're only night time photos, I've not had chance to get decent photos.

I've bolted the harnesses down with the eyelets supplied until I buy myself a cage when everything is going to have to come out to fit it.

Bought myself a boss kit so I'll be looking to buy myself a decent wheel soon as I'm sick of having the bus sized wheel.

D841B2D1-9426-4EC6-AA67-785319463B54.jpg

Reading back through my post I've had a few other things done in the months gone.

Belts done by a Renault specialist, he said timing was quite out so he had to adjust a cam to position it properly, never a good start.

Full new brakes all round, brembo HC discs and ferodo DS2500 pads and genuine rear setup. Got some second hand calipers put on as one of my fronts were sticking badly so decided to get them both changed with all new fluid.

IMG_2086.JPG

Can't think of anything else that's been done to it, due another service soon so I always enjoy knowing it's running on clean oil. Just a couple rolling shots from a while ago as well as I don't update this much.

Cheers.
