windowscreen replacement, auto wipers to pov spec

my 182 ff needs a new screen after fitting the cage (DOH!)
can I use the non auto wiper screen and just bypass this function or will this "potentially play havoc with the electrics" like iv been told by the guy trying to sell me the more expensive screen.
Its a fast road/track car so no doubt ill need another screen from stones/etc at some point and im not a fan of the auto function anyway lol.

I once put a uch and ecu off a car with autolights and wipers onto a car without and the wipers only worked on one setting. Fast or off.
So the uch was looking for the autowiper sensors, I'd imagine your car would do a similar thing.

Unplug the sensor and see what happens.
