wipers sweep

Not long after I got my 172, I removed the wipers recently to fix a leaking washer bottle, but i'm not sure I put the wipers back on in the right place as I didn't mark the spindles before removing.

I've noticed they don't sweep a small area of the windscreen at the base of their arc in the middle.
Do they all do this or do I need to adjust the central arm? It hadn't rained before I fiddled, so am not sure what it was like before.

normal, wipers should be 21" both sides

Damn, I thought I might be able to get rid of it by adjusting one of the double-links round by one spline
