Word help URGENT

I was typing in Ms word and i pressed something that undo cant erm.. undo.
If i went to another paragraph and then typed, previously it would move the letters along on the line but now it overwrites them. Help please!!!

after uni i dont really use it much!!! lol.. It takes me about 1hr to draw a box and 2hrs for anything on excel

You have presses the "ins" button on your keybard, this turns on the overwrite setting. Bottom of Word screen OVR will be in black. Press "Ins" button again and it will go grey and everything will be ok!!
