Would a 14'' steelie fit over 172 calipers?

I'm looking at getting a steel wheel to replace the alloy spare in my 172 to reduce unsprung weight.
According to this: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html a 205/55/14 combo will match my current 195/45/16 Turini.
But would the wheel fit the car?

I tried a 13" steel of a fiesta on mine and it would not fit over the disc lol

Wouldn't even clear the disc, love it.
I think it's a long shot but it should save a good few kilos if I can get one that fits.

I dont carry my spare, ever since the ghey MK1 holder bolt snapped under the car.
My breakdown car and mobile phone is all I need, not the most sensible thing I know but if I did get a puncture I very much doubt I could have removed the spare anyway.
